De Ivory Lacy Sampson

De Ivory Lacy Sampson, 93, resident of Dallas, Texas, died February 11, 2018. She is survived by her children, Clifford, DeGloria, DeMetris, DeNise, De Iva, and many relatives and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Sampson; parents, Marie and Sam Lacy; sister, Cleottice Flenoil; and brother-in-law, Johnie Flenoil. 

She was born in Tyler, Texas and graduated from Texas College with a double major in mathematics and elementary education. She later earned a Master’s degree in mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University.   

Mrs. Sampson lived in Center, Texas, where she taught school in the Center Independent School District for 35 years, where she taught algebra, geometry, physics, biology, trigonometry, and coached UIL number sense and slide rule teams. While living in Center, Mrs. Sampson was an active member of Bright Morning Star Baptist Church and upon moving to Dallas, Texas, united with Greater Community First Baptist Church.   

Services Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Community First Baptist Church, 2828 W. Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, Texas.  Viewing Friday, February 16, 2018 from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home and Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m (church). Interment Laurel Land Memorial Park.
