Funeral services for Dr. Russell Wood “Woody” Ingram, 78, of Diboll were held Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Diboll with Brother Kenny Hibbs officiating. A private family burial was held prior to service.
      
Dr. Ingram was born November 16, 1939 in Center, Texas to the late Mildred (Henderson) and Russell Wood Ingram, Sr., and died Friday, February 16, 2018 in a local hospital.
      
Dr. Woody, as he was known to his patients, practiced dentistry in Diboll for 51 years. He was a faithful member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Diboll. Dr. Woody, an Eagle Scout, served his community on the City Council of Diboll for over 25 years, received the Lottie Temple Citizen of the Year Award in 2016, served as a Director of First Bank and Trust East Texas, and was a member of countless civic and professional organizations. Dr. Woody loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, family, friends, patients, and community. He enjoyed coffee at Pouland’s Everything Store, lunch with the boys, and golf at Crown Colony and Neches Pines. “Pop,” as he was known to his family, was happiest when he was hunting or fishing with Trey, Trent, and his grandsons.
     
He is survived by:

His wife: Mary Ingram of Diboll, to whom he was happily married for 51 years

Daughter: Elizabeth Carlyle and husband Dr. Trent Carlyle of Houston

Son: Russell Wood Ingram III “Trey” and wife Calista of Edmond, Oklahoma

Caroline Carlyle
Wood Ingram
Nate Ingram

Sister: Jane Ruth Morrison

Nephew: Tem Morrison

Niece: Sharon Crelia.
      
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Thomas Earl Morrison.
      
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Andy Jordan, Dr. Charles Kent, Dr. Sonny Clement, Harold Maxwell, Henry Holubec, John Ralph Pouland, Bill McKelvy, Joe Gage, and Jay Wyatt.
     
Woody’s theme verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” In honor of a life well-lived and in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Youth Department of First Baptist Church, 208 Devereaux, Diboll, Texas 75941.
