Gordon L. Martin, 79, of Joaquin, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2016, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Joe Walker officiating.  Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Mr. Martin was born December 18, 1936, in Joaquin, to W.B. Martin and Annie Belle English Martin.  He served in the United States Air Force. In 1972, Mr. Martin founded Industrial Instrument Company in Baytown, which his family continues to operate. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends and serving the Lord. Mr. Martin was a member of Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856.  He was also a member of Logansport Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and song leader.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Martin, Bruce Hughes, Ronny Martin, Tommy Danley, Bruce Martin and Patrick Yarbrough.  Honorary pallbearers will be John “Buddy” Martin, Lydell Berg, Joey Masterson, Doug Going, Earl Danley, Rushing Lambert and Billy Hughes.
