Jack Palmer

03/06/2018

Jack Palmer, 75, of Center, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2018 in Center. He was born on October 6, 1942 in Port Arthur, Texas to Delbert Jack Palmer and Dorothy M. Abshire Palmer. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Mangum Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Jack lived in Port Arthur until the age of nine when his family moved to Tenaha. After a brief stay there, they eventually settled in Center where Jack would graduate from Center High School with the class of 1961.

Jack was a quiet and reserved man. From a young age he developed a passion for cars and most especially he loved his 1932 Ford Hot Rod. He and some of his friends even had a car club in high school called the “Pacemakers.” There was nothing better than getting out on a bright and sunny day to cruise the city streets in his pride and joy. He also liked to fire up the barbecue pit and to cook for his family and friends. Those precious moments spent with the ones closest to him will be treasured forever.

Jack is survived by his brother, Kenneth Palmer and wife, Ella; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Dorothy Palmer.

The family is being served by Mangum Funeral Home in Center. To send condolences or to sign an online register, please visit www.mangumfh.net.
