Janie Louise Brodnax, age 76, departed this life to be with her savior on Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Overton, Tx surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.
Janie was born in Trinity, Tx to Mr. Woodrow Wilson Flowers and Mrs. Ruby Mae Beathard Flowers. Janie is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Ruby Flowers; Brother, Kenneth Flowers; Sister, Thelma Smith and Husband of twenty eight years, George Brodnax.
She is survived by:
Daughter, Karen Armstrong and Husband, John of Overton, Tx
Grandson:
Dylan Robinson and Partner Casey Phillips of Hermitage, TN
David Robinson and Wife Ashley Marie of Louisville, KY
Granddaughter, Ashley Brook Robinson of Hermitage, TN
Great-Grandchildren: Jensen, Jayce, Jaina and Mason.
A skilled cook, gardener and crafts person, Janie will always be remembered for her beautiful holiday meals and providing a lovely home that was a refuge for so many of us. Janie was a memory maker and her Grandchildren will never forget the legendary trips to Crystal Beach with their Nana.
Janie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to LifeCare Hospice of Longview, TX, Focus Care of Center, TX, Visiting Angels of Tyler, TX, Pastor Sherry Harding of Shelbyville United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women’s Group and Attorney and friend Lynda Kay Russell for their unfailing support.

A celebration of life with wonderful food and friends will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Shelbyville United Methodist Church located at 252 FM 417, Shelbyville, TX 75973.
