Lola Mae McDaniel, age 104, of Center, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2007 at Holiday Nursing Home in Center. She was born in Deadwood on March 13, 1903.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, September 28, 2007 at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Chapel in Logansport with Rev. Joe Howard Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Cmetery in Joaquin.

Jacky Fancher, 74, of Timpson, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at a Nacogdoches hospital. She was born December 10, 1932 in Center to Kermit McSwain & Cora Spells McSwain. Ms. Fancher was a member of Tenaha Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with Bro. Aubrey King and Bro. Bob Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. Visitation will be held the day of the funeral beginning at 2:00 pm up until the service time at 4:00 pm.

Claribel Bryan Latham, age 90, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Westward Trails Nursing Home in Nacogdoches.

Graveside Services will be Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery here in Center with Bro. Benny Boles officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Mangum Funeral Home in Center.

She was born September 3, 1917 in Shelby County to A.E. “Jack” Bryan and Emma Christian Bryan. She married John Kemper Latham on January 7, 1940, and he preceded her in death on November 25,1973. Mrs. Latham & her husband Kemper were co-owners & operators of Jones-Latham Department Store for many years. She was a lifelong resident of Center and she was a member of First Baptist Church in Center, TX. Her greatest joys in life were sharing in the lives of her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her Parents A.E. “Jack” and Emma Christian Bryan, her Husband, Kemper Latham, Daughter, Lynda Ann Latham Garza, Son-in-law, Frank Garza, 3 Brothers, Jesse Arthur “Buster” Bryan, Albert Eugene “Gene” Bryan, and James Paul Bryan.

Marie Lee, 84, of Huxley, passed away Tuesday September 25, 2007 at MD Anderson in Houston, TX.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday September 28, 2007 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Henry Hughes and Bro. Pat Windham officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday September 27, 2007 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

She was born June 11, 1923 to William Thomas and Minnie Josephine (Morton) Burton in Shelby County. She worked for E.L. Bruce for 10 years as a machine operator. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Bernice Marie Harris- 1931-2007, Funeral services for Bernice Marie Harris, 76, of the Galloway Community of Panola County were held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at 2 pm at Galloway Methodist Church with Rev. Martin Scott officiating. Interment was in Adams Cemetery in Panola County.

Mrs. Harris passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, in Nacogdoches. She was born in Arenosa to Neely and Bernice Terry. She was a rural postal carrier before her retirement.

She is preceded in death by a great-grandchild, WIll Harris, and a sister, Myrtis Perrin.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, E.J. Harris of Galloway, son, Terry Harris and wife Anitra, of Galloway,daughter, Connie Rogers and husband, Milton of Joaquin, sisters, Bobbie Arnold of Kermit, Wanda Porche of Edna, Lanoe Macha of Louise, Janelle Bassett of Oskaloosa, Kan. and Neelie Zietz of Sugar Land, sister in law, Sadie Glaze and husband , Willie of Logansport, La., brother in law, Richard Perrin of Corpus Christi, Grandchildren, Kade Rogers, and wife, Meredith of Joaquin, Shaun Harris and wife, Kerrie of Deadwood and Dustin Harris and wife Tara of Galloway, great grandchildren, Madison Harris, Dalton Harris, and Kannon Rogers.

Jimmy Ray Choate, 63, of Houston passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 in Galveston. Mr. Choate was born September 23, 1943 in Center, Texas to Pierson Choate and Mae WIlson Choate. Mr. Choate was a truck driver and member of the DAHA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 24, 2007 at Watson and Sons Chapel in Center with Tim Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Herman Cemetery in Shelby County, Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm, Sunday September 23, 2007 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home.

James E. Finkenbinder, 77, of Garrison, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 at a Nacogdoches hospital. He was born on July 27, 1930 in Neodesha, Kansas to James Nevin Finkenbinder and Edith Moreland Finkenbinder. He was a member of Arlam Baptist Church in Garrison and served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.

At the family’s request, Mr. Finkenbinder has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2007, at Arlam Baptist Church in Garrison with Bro. Darrell Pollard officiating.

He was born January 23, 1928 in Shelby County to Parents, Lawrence Augustus "Gus" and Johnnie Mae (Hanks) Holt. He worked as a carpenter in Shelby County for many years. He was a member of the Old Salem Church.

Rains and Sarah Elizabeth Davis Rains. Mr. Rains was a member of the Newbern Masonic Lodge #97, and was a member and Deacon at White Rock Missionary Baptist Church for many years.

Corey De´Juan Jackson
Gladewater- Services for Corey De´Juan Jackson, 36, of Longview, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007, at T.G. Fields Auditorium in Longview, with Dr. R.L. Brazzle officiating. Burial will follow in Jordan Valley Memorial Park of Longview. Arrangements are by Dearion & Davis Funeral Parlor. Mr. Jackson died September 2, 2007, at a local medical center.

Born March 2, 1971, in Longview, he was a church musician for the Bible Teaching Ministries' music department. Survivors include his wife, Chalmer Jackson; daughter, Cierra Jackson; and mother, Marva Addison. Visitation will be from noon-3:30 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2007, at the funeral parlor, and from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, at Bible Teaching Ministries on Glover Street in Longview. A musical tribute will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Corey Jackson worked at the Texas Workforce Solutions, Shelby County Branch Office for the past three years.
