Mark Wilburn, age 53 of Zwolle, LA. passed away August 30, 2008 at his home. He was born August 30, 1955 in Lufkin to Ellis Lamar WIlburn and Jo Beth Hardy WIlburn.

Mark was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outside and being with nature. Mark was of the Baptist faith and was baptized in Toledo Bend Lake in 1996. He had his own fishing business in Zwolle, known as "Today's Catch". which he built after movng to Louisiana in 1996.

Visitation will be held from 1 PM to service time, Wednesday, September 3 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, September 3, at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Judge Bennie Boles to officiate.

Mr. WIlburn is survived by:

Nolan Alexander Zuckero was born at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands on Wednesday, August 27, 1008 at 12:41 PM and passed on to be with God at 1:57 PM. Survivors include his parents, Troy and Karen (Alexander) Zuckero, two sisters, Brittany and Brianna; paternal grandparents, Carlos and Peggy Zuckero, aunt & uncle, Nikki and Drew Grant and two nephews, Nick and Noah all of Spring, TX. Local survivors are maternal grandparents, Paul and Joann Alexander, aunt and uncle, Dale and Cheryl Alexander, cousins Jessica and Dalton Alexander. Nolan was preceeded in death by his uncle Shane Zuckero.

Dr. Joe McKee, Sr., 91, of Farmersville formerly of Center, passed away Monday August 25, 2008 at Hinton Nursing Home in Farmersville, Texas.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday August 29, 2008 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Lewis & Bro. Roland Gray officiating, burial will follow at Wimberly Cemetery in Huxley. Visitation will be Thursday August 28, 2008 at Mangum Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

He was born October 25, 1916 to Vessie Henry and Lula (Bailey) McKee. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In 1943 he graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. On February 27, 1943 he married Mary Evelyn Stanley who precedes him in death.

He is also preceded in death by his Parents, Vessie and Lula McKee and Brother, Harry McKee.

Don Barkley Fletcher, 64, of Nacogdoches, passed away Friday, August 22, 2008, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He was born March 6, 1944 in Center to Andrew B. Fletcher and Leta Leggett Fletcher.

At the family’s request, Mr. Fletcher has been cremated.

Geneva M. Pledger, age 89, of Garrison, Texas, formerly of Shreveport, La., services will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, in Timpson with Rev. Sammy Eldredge officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson. Miss Pledger passed away in the Garrison Nursing Home, Garrison, Texas, on Monday, August 25, 2008.

Born June 12, 1919, in Amity, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Marmon and Vada Lou (Walker) Pledger. Miss Pledger retired after 40 years of employment with Walgreen Drug Stores in Little Rock, AR, and Shreveport, La. She was a member of Western Hills Baptist Church of Shreveport.

Survivors include one sister, Alysie Mae Porterfield of Timpson; nieces Sherri Shahan and husband, Don, of Timpson, Cathy Windham and husband, Leon, of Timpson; Jean Gibbs and husband, Dwayne, of Timpson; nephews Roy Pledger and wife, Betty, of Garrison, Mike Pledger and wife, Wanda, of Timpson, Joe Pledger and wife, Sherry, of Timpsn, and Don Pledger and wife, Vicki, of Timpson; numerous cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Milton Pledger, and his wife Grace.

Visitation will be 5 - 7pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson.

Grady Whitton, 86, of Center, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008 in Center. He was born December 31, 1921 in Alto, Texas to James Eli Whitton and Mary Gertrude Patterson Whitton. Mr. Whitton served in the U.S. Cavalry during World War II as part of the Burma China Defensive. He continued to serve his country as a federal livestock inspector. As inspector he patrolled the Rio Grande River for illegal cattle contaminated with fever ticks. He retired to Center in 1981, where he farmed and raised his family.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Sardis Cemetery with Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating.

Marlie Ray Vaughn, 74, of Huxley, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008 in Center. He was born November 7, 1933 in Huxley to Austin Henry Vaughn and Hazel Margaret English Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Lydia Missionary Baptist Church.

Orlena Victoria Tate Tatum, 70 of Center, passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 in Nacogdoches. She was born June 5, 1938 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to Woodrow Tate and Carrie Levon Chain Tate. Mrs. Tatum was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She loved to quilt and was a member of a local quilting club. She attended Campti Methodist Church.

Gene Borders, 66, of Center, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at a Shreveport hospital. He was born February 17, 1942 in Port Arthur to A.E. Borders and Susie Dearing Borders. Gene was self-employed as a logging contractor and A Borders Enterprise, LLC. He was a political activist, Activist of the Year in 2006, past president of the Texas Logging Council and on the Board of Directors of the Texas Forestry Association. Gene was a very faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Center and was a trustee/board member.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 21 and all day Friday, August 22 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Mrs. LouVenia Bell (Woolf) Vance, age 71, of Lindale, Texas, died Monday, August 18, 2008, at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler. Mrs. Vance was a housewife and baptist.

Visitation will be from 9 am to 10 am with services to follow at 10 am, Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, Texas. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola.

She was the daughter of the late Claud Woolf and the late Angelina (Hudson) Woolf and was also preceded in death by one brother, Perry W. Woolf.

She is survived by her husband Mr. Billy Vance of Mineola; two daughters, Jeanine Autrey of Monroe, La. and Misty White of Lindale, Texas; three sisters, Myrtle West of Princeton, Texas, Bessie Taylor of Mineola, Texas and Betty McIntosh of Lacombe, La.

Local survivors include her brother and sister-in-law Mark and Lela Woolf, niece Marsha Barnett, nephew Richard Woolf, cousin Thenia Tindol, great nephews Matthew and Joshua Beasley.

Yvonne Carol Beard, 62, of Timpson, service will be at 2 P.M., Wednesday, August 20, 2008, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson, with interment in Cold Springs Cemetery, Garrison. Officiating will be Rev. T.D. Lunsford. Ms Beard passed away Monday, August 18, 2008, in Nacogdoches.

Born January 17, 1946, in Timpson, she was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Ludie (Burgay) Beard. Yvonne was a ranch owner and LVN. She was a member of Cold Springs Baptist Church, Garrison.

Survivors include son BoJack Milford and wife Stephanie of Timpson; daughter Tracy Christopher of Timpson; 2 brothers Billy W. Beard and Carl L. Beard of Houston; 6 grandchildren; Heather and James Howland, Joe and Cassie Christopher, and Payton and Elizabeth Milford; 3 great grandchildren; Hayden Howland, Kammie and Logan Hart and their mother Jennifer Sepulvado.

In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by Carroll Wayne Milford, father of sons Charles "BoJack" Milford and the late Jason Milford, and brother Charles "Bo" Beard.

Dannie Bearden, age 69, of Timpson, graveside service will be at 10 A.M., Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in Blair Cemetery with Bro. Henry Hughes officiating. Mr. Bearden passed away Sunday, August 17, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital .

Born September 28, 1938, in the Huber Community of Shelby County, Texas, he was the son of the late John Henry and Nellie Lee (Grant) Bearden. Mr. Bearden had worked as a service man for several propane businesses and was member of Fulsom Chapel Missionary Baptist Church .

Survivors include a son, Bobby Bearden and wife Shana of Timpson; daughter Donna Green and husband Eddie of Tenaha; 4 brother: Red Bearden of Center, Texas, Tommy Bearden of Willis Point, Texas, Robert Bearden of De Ridder, LA., and Johnny Ray Bearden of Wills Point; 4 sisters: weta Fay Gullett of Willis Point, Emma Jean Moore of Center, Sarah Nell Combs of Overton, Texas, and Patsy Ann Bearden of Will Point; 5 grandchildren: Chuck, Chris, Courtney, Brittney, and Little Man.

Anna Belle Green, age 90, of Lake Jackson, Texas, formerly of Timpson, graveside service will be at 2 PM, Saturday, August 16, 2008, in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sammy Eldredge officiating. Mrs. Green passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in Lake Jackson.

Born in Shelby County, Texas on August 25, 1917, Anna Belle Green was the daughter of the late Homer Hamilton and Bertha (Elrod) Screws. She and Flowler Tot Green were married October 17, 1936, and enjoyed 70 years together until his death on March 29, 2007. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all. She was a member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Trina Green Taylor of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandson Alex Taylor and wife Barbra of Irmo, SC; granddaughter d'Arceyanne Taylor Scott and husband Mike of Lake Jackson; 4 great grandchildren; Wesley Taylor, Makenize Scott, Zachary Taylor and Dawson Scott. Also surviving are sisters Pauline Nix and Dovie Lee Casey, brother Leon Screws, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Paul Screws, Homer Benjamin Screws, and Homer Henry Screws, and sister Adelle Berdie Screws Stone.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 1 PM until service time, Saturday, August 16, at Taylor Funeral Home.

Carl Johnson, age 86, of Timpson, service will be at 1 PM, Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Wallace Chapel Baptist Church, Timpson, with interment in Smyrna Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Vertis Norman. Mr. Johnson passed away August 11, 2008, in Nacogdoches.

Born in Timpson on September 15, 1921, Carl Johnson was the son of the late Anthony and Hattie (Todd) Johnson. He was married to the late Gerldine (William) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a Deacon of Wallace Chapel Baptist Church and worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include sons; Charles Ray Johnson of Houston and Larry Johnson of Timpson; daughters Hattie Love of Houston, Etois McLendon and husband Lavance of Irving, Texas, Gladys Faye Johnson and husband Larry of Timpson, and Jeanette Johnson of Houston. Mr. Johnson also helped rear grandson Mario Johnson and granddaughter Shauntee Simmons. Other survivors include brother Glenn Johnson of Los Angeles, CA. 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife Gerldine(Williem) Johnson, daughter Carolyn Hudson, granddaughter Marcia Osby and 2 great grandsons.

Visitation will be from 10 AM, Saturday, August 16, until service time at 1 PM at Wallace Chapel Baptist Church.

Laura Mae (Lilly) Hairgrove, age 92, of Timpson, Texas funeral services will be at 10 A.M., Tuesday, August 12, 2008, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson, with interment in Buena Vista Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Dock Lazarine and Rev. James Blaylock.

Mrs. Hairgrove passed away at her home on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Born in Nacogdoches County, Texas on December 17, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Dolly (Campbell) Lilly. She and Leon Hairgrove were married February 25, 1940 adn were blessed with 61 years together before his death August 24, 2001. Laura Hairgrove was a faithful member of Buena Vista Baptist Church for 68 years.

Survivors include: Son, David Hairgrove and wife Rebecca of Timpson; Daughter, Bettie Christian and husband Jack of Tenaha; Granddaughter, Angela Whitton and husband Josh; Great Grandson, Wyatt David Whitton and 2 Sisters, Lois Powers and Naomi Hendrick of Timpson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Leon Hairgrove, brothers Lacy Lilly, Adlee Lilly and E.H. Lilly; stepbrother Lester Hairston; sister, Patsy Hairgrove; and step sister Louis Towns.

Gean Sholar Byrd, 83, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008. A native of Jones County, Mississippi and resident of the Beaumont area for thirty-five years, Mrs. Byrd was a nurse and later a bookkeeper for J&J Motel. Even though Gean had a many careers, her first concerns were her family and friends when they needed her. She was the first to arrive and the last to leave.

Her husband, Lynn C. Byrd preceded her in death.

Survivors include her five step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; step-great great grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; and great great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches with John Clubb, Mike Ioannaglou, Michael Simoneaux, Jr., Mark Byrd Norman Manuel, and Eric Dickman serving as honorary pallbearers. A gathering of family and friends will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Mortuary.

She was member of Phalba Church of Christ in Phalba, Texas.

Funeral services for Mr. Doug Reeh, age 86 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Carthage Church of Christ with Brother Mark Sloan officiating. A graveside service will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger, Texas. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Reeh passed away on Friday afternoon, August 1, 2008 in Carthage.
Douglas Charles Reeh was born on March 22, 1922 in Longview, Texas to Carl Augustus and Mamie Polk Reeh. Mr. Reeh married Florence Stone on April 7, 1962 in Silsbee, Texas. He was involved as a radio and television personality in the area for many years, working at KGAS radio much of the time. He was the co-owner, publisher, and sales manager at the Timpson Tenaha Newspaper. Mr. Reeh was member of the Timpson Chamber of Commerce, the Timpson Lions Club, the Carthage Rotary Club and the Center Rotary Club. Mr. Reeh lived in Carthage for the past 30 years and was an active member of the Carthage Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy Balles, Frances Davenport, and Kathlyn Reeh; and one brother, Thomas Reeh.

Mr. Reeh is survived by his wife of 46 years, Florence Reeh of Carthage; two sons, Daryl Reeh of Port Lavaca and Galen Reeh and wife Derylene of Round Rock; one daughter, Vera Kathlyn Dodson and husband Bobby of Port Lavaca; one step-son, Ben Tucker and wife Cindy of Paradise, TX; one step-daughter, Nancy L. Alexander and husband Lynn of Carthage; one brother, Tony Reeh of California; one sister-in-law, Becky Reeh of Shreveport; seven grandchildren, Lee Anne Sharpe and husband Patrick of Carthage, Ben Tucker, Jr. and wife Amber of Haslet, TX, Amanda Tucker of Paradise, Charlie Taylor and wife Jenna of Spring, Craig Reeh of Round Rock, Justin Reeh of Round Rock, and Kyle Russell of Port Lavaca; and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kelsey, and Kolbey Sharpe, Kylee Ruth Tucker, and Canon Taylor. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Reeh.

Born in Garrison, Txexas, on November 19, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Othella (Rogers) Wright, also reared by the late Buford Diamond. She and Charles H. Sepulvado were married on February 22, 2001. Beverly Ann was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, Timpson, and was employed at Sunterrace in Nacogdoches before her retirement.

Survivors include husband Charles H. Sepulvado of Timpson, son Felix Wayne Stokes and wife Belinda of Timpson; daughter Sharon Ann Parks and husband Colin of Frisco, Texas, 3 step sons Michael C.
