Frank Otis King, Jr., 68, of Center, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 at Shelby Regional Medical Center.

His wishes were to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date in New Mexico.

He was born November 17, 1942 in Magdalena, NM to Frank Otis King, Sr. and Dolores L. Cavasos. He served in the U.S. Navy and he was a member of the St. Marks United Methodist Church. He worked as a carpenter for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Belva King.

Harold Allan Ellison, Jr. age 63 of Logansport, LA, passed away, Monday, November 22, 2010 at his residence after a brief battle of cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Logansport.

Mr. Ellison was born, August 4, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Parents, Harold Allan Ellison, Sr. and Myrtie Belle Foster Ellison. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Ellison.

Brady Clark, 87, of Center, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at a Tyler hospice. He was born July 30, 1923 in Shelby County to Charlie E. Clark and Ida Sanford Clark. Mr. Clark was a member of the Sam Houston Masonic Lodge #32 in Shelbyville and Sardis Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 26, 2010 at Watson & Sons Chapel. Masonic graveside services will follow at Sardis Cemetery.

James Rogers McCann, 76, of Stonewall, Louisiana, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at a Shreveport hospital. He passed away peacefully after a long battle with heart disease. He was born June 21, 1934 in Tenaha, Texas to Willie Carter McCann and Lila Joplin McCann. Jim grew up in Basile, Louisiana but returned to Tenaha to finish high school and marry his high school sweetheart, Juana Bowlin. He was employed by Kast Metals Foundry in Shreveport for 28 years, and was also on the Caddo Parish School Board for 13 years, having retired from both. When his wife retired from Highland Hospital in 1999, they moved back to Tenaha and enjoyed retirement for over 11 years. They recently moved to Stonewall to be near their children and grandchildren.

William “Tom” Garrett passed away November 14, 2010. He was born August 4, 1931 to the late William and Bertha Polley Garrett. Upon his mothers premature death, he was raised by Floyd and Martha Garrett. During this time a special bond was generated with play brothers Ray, Lawrence, Joe, Willie and sister Linda.

He found Christ at an early age at East Liberty Baptist Church . He later joined East Hamilton Baptist Church both located in Shelbyville, Texas .

He married Queen Esther Moore on December 10, 1955 to this union two daughters were born. Pearl McLendon (A.L.) and Robbie Garrett both of Center.  He leaves to cherish his memory four grandchildren Rochelle Garrett , O’Bryan Land, Denise and Asia Garrett. Three brothers Sam Garrett (Judy), Lee Garrett both of Bullard, Texas, A.J Garrett (Jean) of Beaumont, and sister Olivia Cameron (Martin) of Chandler, Texas and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, November 19th at Hicks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 20th at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Alvin E. Brinson officiating.

Helen Jean Moore, age 79 of the Hutchinson Mountain Community died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born October 26, 1931 at Huff, Arkansas to William Lee and Lorena Helen (Turner) Gould. She was a retired elementary school teacher with 31 years of service having taught at Southside, Bono and Concord Schools. She was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Maranda Estes Verser.

Nicholas Edward Winstine, age 25 of Carriere, MS, who passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 in New Orleans, LA. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 15, 2010, at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Father Michael Snyder will officiate at the service.

Nicholas was a native of Slidell, LA, and lived in Carriere, MS for the past eighteen years. He was a casino dealer and worked as a secuirty guard at Gulf coast Casinos. Nicholas was also employed by the New Orleans Superdome. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. His hobbies were playing pool, bowling, darts and watching the New Orleans Saints.

Survivors include his parents, Janet Bostick Magee and husband Edward of Carriere, MS, and Dennis R. Winstine Sr. and wife Sharon of Shelbyville, TX, his siblings, Dennis R. Winstine Jr., Quentin Scott Winstine, Erin Bordelon and husband Kirk, Ryan Magee, Devin Delaney, Daniel Delaney, his grandparents, Mary R. Bostick, Samuel L. Montgomery Jr., and Mamie "Jerrie" Montgomery, his Godmother, Beverly Winstine, aunts and uncles, Natalie Bostick, Dale Winstine Sr., Carmel Henley, cousins, Kyle, Christina and Victoria Bordelon, Tina and Bryan Camaro, Dale Winstine Jr., Jesse Winstine, several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Fern Hensarling, 89 of San Augustine, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Unit in Lufkin, Texas. Fern Hensarling was born March 28, 1921, in San Augustine County, Texas, to the late Wood Pate and Lucindy (Goodwin) Pate.

Mrs. Hensarling was a member of Attoyac Missionary Baptist, being, not the oldest member, but being the longest time member. She dearly loved her church and her family.

She is survived by her children Sue and Bo Taylor of Longview, Clifford and Nelda Hensarling of San Augustine, and Ronald Hensarling of San Augustine; grandchildren Scott and Melanie Taylor, Jeff ad Ava Hensarling, Jennifer Meador, and Jess Hensarling; great-grandchildren Dustin Wisenhunt, Ashleigh Wisenhunt, Kaleigha Ray, Madison Taylor, Merrick Taylor and Kiaya Ray; twin sister Faye Mills of San Augustine; sister-in-law Elaine Turner; and special friend Gloria Garrett of San Augustine.
