Rose Maude Ware Culver, 77, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, & friend, was welcomed into Heaven by her large, and loving family who preceded her home, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, after a valiant battle with COPD. She was born on December 30, 1935, in her fraternal home on Butler Hill, Gary, Texas, to Katie Ila Crump Ware, and Ralph Lamar Ware. She was an excellent student of the Tenaha school system where she was involved in many clubs, and her love of learning was fostered by several wonderful teachers. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin University, Class of 1957, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, Rose accepted a teaching position with the Groves Independent School District, where she taught fifth grade. She was a beloved teacher, mentor, & friend to all who knew her, and several of these students became lifelong friends. Rose Ware, meet and married the love of her life Albert Culver, at the First Methodist Church, Tenaha, Texas, on February 13, 1960, a winter storm made the nuptials very icy, and gave her a great story to tell her children, about her wedding. She was a world traveler, who could stretch a dollar by eating potted meat sandwiches, or Vienna sausage, so she could go a little farther each trip. She was an avid reader, gardener, fisher woman, student of life, lover of nature, antiques collector, neighborhood mom, Bluebird Leader, and most importantly Rose was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a true friend to all who knew and loved her! While she never returned to teaching after giving birth to her three daughters, she continued to teach her children, neighbor kids, friends children, and strangers, about the world, to love nature, books, birds, insects, rocks, music, laughter, and one another, she was the Kool-Aid, and cookies mom, giving so much to so many that kids came from blocks away to play at The Culver Girls’ house. Rose made many lifelong friendships that brought several families together to this day; the Drakes, Goldbergs, Burmeisters, were wonderful additions to the large extended Culver and Ware families. She reveled in her children, her nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her beloved parents making everyone feel special, and nurtured the importance of loving family.

Rose Maude, is survived by her daughters: Emily Rose Beaird, and husband, Ramon, of Florence, TX; Brenda Jane Culver, and life partner, Regina Stoneham, of Round Rock, TX; Katy Frances Wallace, and husband Grady, of Hutto, TX; Sister Frances Bowlin, and husband Morris, of Gary, TX; granddaughter Lana Welch, husband SOG Tanner Welch, of Virginia; granddaughters: Gradie Lauren Wallace, Audrey Beaird, Vicki Beaird, grandsons: Daniel Culver, Hunter Wallace, Noah Wallace, great grandsons: Logan Johnson, Turner Welch, great-granddaughters Lily Welch, her niece Beverly Kay Martin, and husband Keith; nephew Bryan Bowlin, and wife Terry of Tenaha, TX; her beloved son, Ray Cody Drake, of Nacogdoches, TX. The family would also like to thank the staff of Texas Home Health Hospice, who gave Rose exceptional care, and showered her in kindness; Nurse Emma, Chaplain Donna, Aide Lucille, Aide Carla aka (Carli) and all the other great nurses she was blessed to know!

Rose Maude Ware Culver, will be honored in a Christian Service at the Ramah Baptist Church, 131 County Road 4475 Tenaha, TX, 75974-4515, on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Keith Keele, presiding, Burial will follow at Ramah Cemetery. Ron M. Lee, 67, died in Houston on August 19, 2013, after battling esophageal cancer for three and half years. Memorial Services will be held at 6:30pm on Friday, August 23, 2013 Victory & Praise Worship Center at 21907 FM 2100 Crosby, Texas. The Lee Family, in keeping with his wishes, would like for his friends to stop by and enjoy his favorite food, Barbeque and share fond memories celebrating his life.

Ron M. Lee was an identical twin and the son of Ira Evan Lee, World War II Veteran and Annie Ruth Lee (“Meme”). He grew up in Center, Texas and attended Center High School and later Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was blessed with a bigger than life personality and the art of sales came naturally to him. He was life-long salesman in the Insurance, apparel and mobile home industry. As he would always say, he “could sell an oscillating fan to an Eskimo!”

In 1966, he married his Center High School sweetheart, Billie Kathryn Metcalf. Three years later they had their only child, Michael “Cody” Lee. In 1999, he married Maria Zubia Cervantes after being single for 25 years. Though he had many trials in this life, he had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus, his Lord and Savior. Shortly before he passed, he said that, “He had decided it was time and he was going to Heaven,” and that is exactly what he did.

Survivors include: His twin brother Don M. Lee and his sister Lynn Lee of Humble, Texas; his son Cody Lee and wife Heather and his grandchildren Hudson, Sheppard, Isabella and Lola Grace of McKinney, Texas. A special thanks to Ryli Lee Davis, his niece, who out of love provided for his care in his final months.

In lieu of flowers, any donations to his Church (Victory & Praise Worship Center at 21907 FM 2100 Crosby, Texas) would be appreciated.
