Colin James Marshall was born in Houston, Texas on May 5, 1988. He was raised in Friendswood, Texas by his mother and father James and Karen.

Colin was well known, even through childhood, to be the funny guy in the room. Whenever Colin was around it didn't take long before someone, or everyone, was literally rolling on the floor laughing. He was a friend to those in need when they needed him. Whether it was fixing a computer, lifting a car to change a tire, or just being an ear to listen, Colin's heart was always open, 24/7. Colin had an intuitive knack for knowing just when his family and friends needed him the most. Colin's interests included computers, robotics, astro-physics, aeronautical sciences, flying planes, scuba diving, and video games just to name a few. He was always exploring new activities both to keep him entertained and to challenge his intellect. He was also incredibly passionate about his job and position in the United States Air Force. Colin was recently promoted to Staff Sergeant, and had graduated at the top of his class in Airmen Leadership School, receiving the Academic Achievement Award. He was credited by numerous classmates as being the main advocate for them passing ALS with him.

Colin's love of his family and friends was limitless and without judgment. When it comes to men who love without condition, Colin was a shining example. He lived his life by the Marshall Family motto, "Veritas Vincit", which means, "Truth Conquers." He wore his heart on his sleeve, and wasn't afraid to sacrifice himself for those he loved.

Colin James Marshall passed away while on active duty with the USAF on March 19, 2013 at the age of 24. Emma Rose Landry Hicks passed away on March 18, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on January 12, 1929 in Crowley, LA to Obre Landry and Evelyn Faulk Landry.

While just a teenager and working at the movie theater in Baytown, Rose ran into a handsome, young sailor home on leave from the Navy. Oly Hicks and Rose fell in love and after a whirlwind courtship, they married. Following his discharge from the Navy, they continued to live in Baytown until moving to La Porte in the early 50’s. Even after they moved to La Porte, Rose worked at Scarborough’s Drugstore in Baytown for many years before purchasing a hamburger shop in La Porte. Pete’s Place is remembered fondly by many longtime La Porte residents as the best place in town to get a hamburger. Although she loved her many loyal customers, after a dozen or so years she decided it was time to retire and enjoy a slower pace of life. Soon after she sold Pete’s Place, her husband joined her in retirement and they moved to East Texas. They lived in Center for about 20 years before Oly passed away. They enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage before his passing. Then, Rose moved back to La Porte about 10 years ago to be near family.

While living in Center, Oly and Rose were very active in their church and enjoyed hosting fish fries at their home for the congregation. Oly was a deacon and Rose taught Sunday school for many years. They also enjoyed vacations especially their time in the Philippines. In addition, Rose loved her flowers, her purses, and her shoes. And, she loved her Western movies – most of which she knew by heart. Although Oly had been her one and only true love, John Wayne wasn’t far behind.

But her greatest joy was her loving family: son, Michael Hicks and wife Colleen of La Porte; daughter Linda Burns and husband Thomas of Shalimar, FL; and daughter Oline Cherry and husband Richard of Orlando, FL. Grandchildren are Clint Hicks and wife Gina; Clayton Burns; Amanda Burns Olabarria; Dustin Burns; A.J. Schwerdtfeger; and Rose Thomson and husband Gareth. Great-grandchildren are Hunter Hicks, Jamie Olabarria, Euan Thomson, Izabella Burn, Morgan Ewing and Hannah Ewing. Also surviving are brother Theodore Holt, Jr. and his wife Joyce, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Emma Rose will be held on Thursday, March 21, from 5-7:00pm at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home, 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte. Services will be held on Friday, March 22, at 1:00pm at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Mark Redd of Bayshore Baptist Church presiding. A brief graveside service will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 850l Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 6301 Richmond Avenue, Houston, TX 77057 or the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation at www.toysfortots.org.

Delia was born on April 21, 1944, in Raymondville, Texas to the late Filiberto Reyes and Angelita Hernandez Reyes from Raymondville, Texas. She grew up in Raymondville, Texas and later moved to the East Texas area and resided in East Texas for about 30 years. She was an active church member and trustee for the Centro de Vida Christian Church in Nacogdoches. She had two special scriptures in the bible: Palms 91 and Acts 2:38. The love she had for her church and her church members does not begin to describe her dedication to her Lord and her church. The most important thing is her life was her family. She was a wonderful grandmother, mother and friend. To Delia she always had time to enjoy every minute to be with them, pray for them and talk about how proud she was about her kid’s professions. Delia greeted every person with a smile, she never met a stranger because she had this magnetic personality that would attract you to her to sit there and listen to her just talk about her love of life. One of her quotes was “This world is not my Home”. Gardening, pets, and doing garage sales were also her enjoyments in life. Delia, her smile, her prayers, and her personality will dearly be missed by church family, children and grandchildren. Delia “was a survivor”!

Delia is survived by her mother, Angelita Reyes of Raymondville, TX; son, Lee Saenz and wife, Tracy of Center TX; daughters, Christina Saenz Hudspeth and husband, Yancy of Center TX, Annette Saenz Montemayor and husband, Aaron of Nacogdoches, TX, Priscilla Saenz Smith and husband, Michael of Diboll, TX; grandchildren, Ashey Saenz Rooks, Randall Rooks, Austin Saenz, Quincy Hudspeth, Cole Hudspeth, Brent Hudspeth, Bradley Jones, Cody Jones, Micah Smith, Arturo Montemayor, Kenny Montemayor; sisters, Antonia Aguirre from Ft. Mr. Reese Parker Andrews, age 62, a prominent East Texas attorney, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Nacogdoches Medical Center. Mr. Andrews was born December 8, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Robert Parker Andrews and Selma Louise (Reese) Andrews.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carolyn Louise Andrews; sons, Parker Austin Andrews of Waco and Payton Douglas Andrews of Nacogdoches; a daughter, Annaleigh Katherin Andrews of Nacogdoches; his mother, Selma Louise Reese Andrews of Weatherford; and sisters, Bekki Andrews of Conroe and Gini Chesney of Weatherford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 2pm at First Baptist Church Nacogdoches, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church on NE Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, Texas.

Reese spent his boyhood years traveling with his family, finally settling in Weatherford the spring of Reese's sixth grade year. Throughout the remainder of his school years, he excelled in track, football and public speaking while developing his love and talent for playing the piano and the guitar. He graduated from Weatherford High School in 1969. He then attended Texas A&M University, where he was a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets and graduated with high honors in May 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in German. He returned to Texas A&M to earn his master's degree in English in December 1976.

Meanwhile, not content to remain still for very long, Reese was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1975, stationed at various army bases including Fort Riley, Fort Sill, Fort Hood and Fort Bragg, where he was attached to the 82nd Airborne Division. Reese served in a variety of capacities during his service in the Reserve, oftentimes spending summers abroad in Europe. Perhaps his favorite assignments were the summers he spent in southern Germany, serving as a translator for the brigade commander of the First Infantry Division. He eventually attended "jump school" and earned his wings at Fort Benning in October 1982.

Upon receiving a substantial scholarship, Reese returned to school in Texas, graduating from Baylor Law School in May 1982. He began practicing law that fall and soon married the love of his life, Carolyn Louise Pennebaker, in June 1983. Carolyn earned her law degree at Baylor soon after, and in September 1992, the two of them moved to Nacogdoches, where they opened their own law firm, Andrews & Andrews.

Carolyn stopped practicing with Reese when their first child, Parker, was born. A lover of music, Reese loved the great hymns of the Christian faith and was often heard singing them along the sidewalks of downtown Nacogdoches as he walked from his office to the courthouse or the bank. He and his family were members of Grace Bible Church, where Reese served as a Sunday school teacher for the college class and the fifth and sixth grade combined class. They have been active members of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church since August 2005.

Reese will be remembered as a man who had a true passion for life, one who never knew a stranger and was never a respecter of persons. He was quick to forgive others and hoped others would quickly forgive him. He loved to travel and enjoyed every opportunity to sharpen his Spanish and German speaking skills. He was devoted to his family, and he loved the Bible and could quote dozens of passages from memory. He worked hard and played hard with his children. Reese was generous and friendly to all.

Arrangements are under the direction of T.A. Lane & Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches. Online memories and condolences may be offered at http://www.casonmonk-metcalf.com/.
