Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Keele officiating. Burial will follow at Ramah Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

He was born December 31, 2013 in Nacogdoches to Nicholas Samford and Ashley Cumby.

Bonnie D. Lindemann Royal, 88, of Webster, Texas formerly of Joaquin, passed into the loving of our Lord on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Park with Bro. Jody Hooper officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at Mangum Funeral Home.

She was born on December 24, 1925 in Tenaha to Lottie and Arthur “Bud” Cox. She moved with her family to Joaquin in 1936. She moved to Houston in 1953 and was employed at “Downtown Foley’s Terrace Tearoom” where she retired after 31 years and returned to Joaquin where she lived until the death of her husband and was a faithful member of Haslam Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Arthur “Bud” and Lottie Cox, her Husband of 60 years, Bennie Lindemann, and Sister and Brother-in-law, Francis and Fredy McDaniel.

John Dean Pilkington, 79, of the Paxton Community, Tenaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his residence.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Ramah Baptist Church in Tenaha with Bro. Keith Keele officiating. Military honors will follow at Ramah Cemetery under the direction of Barksdale Air Force Base. Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

He was born February 27, 1934 in Blackwell, OK to Vern and Gertrude Sue (Moore) Pilkington. He served in United States Air Force for 4 years. He worked for Louisiana Pacific in Logansport, LA for many years. He was member of the Ramah Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Gideon’s International.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Vern and Gertrude Pilkington and four Brothers, Paul Pilkington, Curtis Pilkington, Doyle Pilkington & Leman Pilkington.

Jane Ellen Arnold, of Center, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Tyler, Texas. She was born August 26, 1937 in Center, Texas to Davis Waterhouse and LaVerne Lane Waterhouse. Mrs. Arnold worked in Center as a nurse for over 50 years in the clinics of Dr. Hunter Mallory, Dr. Stephen Sayers, and Dr. Netherly. She finished her career as plant nurse for Center Hallmark. She was a member of the Shelby County Historical Society and President of the Westview Cemetery Association, where she was instrumental in the Cemetery being awarded a Historical Marker by the State of Texas. Mrs. Arnold was a member of Bright Morning Star Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held from 3pm to 7pm on Friday, February 28 at Hicks Mortuary in Center. Funeral services will be held at 1pm., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church in Center.

Donald L. “Don” Burt, 84, of Center, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches. He was born December 23, 1929 in Alto to James T. Burt and Edna Latham Burt. Mr. Burt served in the United States Army. He retired as a Forman for International Paper Company, where he was employed for thirty-four years. Mr. Burt was a member of First Baptist Church in Center.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Carl Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Sarah Pearl Godwin Stephens, 87, of the Logan Community in Panola County, TX, passed away on Friday morning, Feb. 21, 2014, in Carthage. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Windham officiating. Interment will follow in Deadwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Sarah Pearl Godwin Stephens was born on Apr. 29, 1926, in Hope, Arkansas to the late Melvin Hartwell and Eugenia Turnage Godwin. Mrs. Stephens married James Fred Stephens on Dec. 4, 1945, in Houston, TX and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1982. She loved hunting and fishing. Mrs. Stephens was a former member of the Order of the Easter Star #1058 in Houston. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Stephens was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lynn Elvin Godwin, Ben Ervin Godwin, Alvin Franklin Godwin, and Clyde Farley Godwin and three sisters, Mattie Belle Shires, Thelma Pauline Bice, and Exa Doris Eason.

Mrs. Stephens is survived by one son, James Riley Stephens and wife Brenda of Shelbyville; one daughter, Mary Louise Kelly and husband Henry of Fair Play; one brother, Melvin Harold Godwin and wife Becky of Clayton; one sister, Emma Louise Godwin Donald Corley of Carthage; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great- grandchildren.

Warren Albert Roquet, 93, of Houston, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was born August 23, 1920 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Aloysius “Albert” Roquet and Mary Heintz Roquet.

Mr. Roquet graduated from Owensville, Ohio High School in 1938, University of Cincinnati in 1947 with a Degree in Business Administration (BBA) and Southern Methodist Law School in Dallas, Texas in 1948 with a law degree (J.D.). On October 23, 1944, he married Miss Gwen Worsham. He was employed by Shell Oil Company from August of 1948 until he retired in 1981. He worked in the Land, Pipeline, Legal, Public Affairs, Government Affairs and Insurance Departments. From 1981 until 1985, he engaged in consulting work as a Petroleum Land and Legal Consultant.

Mr. Roquet joined the United States Air Force in August of 1942 and served as a Navigator with the 491st Heavy Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force in England until 1945. He remained in the Air Force Reserve until he retired from duty at the rank of Colonel. He was a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers in the late 1970’s and a charter and life member of the Silver Falcons of the United States Air Force Academy since 1974.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Watson & Sons Chapel. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin.

Irvin Lee Throckmorton, 90 of Timpson, passed away February 8, 2014 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born June 6, 1923 to Charles B. Throckmorton and Virginia (West) Throckmorton in Richmond, VA. He was a member of Caladonia Baptist Church and was retired from the Air Force.

James W. Wheeler, 87, of the Aiken Community of Shelby County, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 10, 1926 in Garrison to Weldon Simpson Wheeler and Annie Della Nelson Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler served in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Wheeler Radiator Shop for many years. Mr. Wheeler was a member of the National Rifle Association, Golden Eagles, VFW Post #8904 and White Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Center.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Eddie Sue Burnaman Stanaland, 84, passed away February 14, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born June 28, 1929, to Harland and Ruth Burnaman. She was raised in the Shady Grove community.

She attended the Nacogoches schools and graduated from Stephen F. Austin College with a business degree. She taught at Garrison High School and Big Sandy High School on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation. She also worked for Dr. C.C. Young, DVM, Anderson Grain as bookkeeper, and Sherwin-Williams as bookkeeper. After 36 years, she retired on September 7, 2013, from Sherwin-Williams. She was a member of North Street Church of Christ.

She married Robert Stanaland on Februrary 16, 1962, and they were married for 51 years before his death on November 27, 2013.

She is survived by children, Terry Stanaland and wife Tammy, Elizabeth Channel and husband Larry, Melinda Stanaland, and Bobby Stanaland and wife Daphne, all of Nacogdoches, Texas.

Ettie, as her grandchildren called her, is survived by Steven Stanaland, Melissa Skelton, Michael Kressin, Misty Kressin, Rebecca Dillon, Jacob Dillon, David Burkhalter, Nathan Burkhalter, Shelby Stanaland, and Kaelyn Stanaland; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Sue is also survived by sisters Harlene Muckleroy of Center, Texas, Lillie Ross of El Paso, Texas, and Helen Brown of Nacogdoches, Texas; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Sue was preceded in death by parents, Harland and Ruth Burnaman; husband, Robert Stanaland; and brother, Fred Tucker Burnaman.

Pall bearers will be Fred Taylor Burnaman, Ken Muckleroy, Fred Yanoush, Rusty Brown, Nathan Burkhalter, Jacob Dillon, and Scott Coyle.

Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2014, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Minister Bill Sherrill officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Hospice of East Texas, American Cancer Society, or The Harvest House.

Bobby Lynn Harkness, longtime resident of Center, passed away at age 70 on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton, Texas, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Bobby was born in Center on July 23, 1943 to Hazel Emma Williford and Raleigh Harkness. He spent much of his youth at the home of his grandparents Homer and Daisy Williford in the James Community northeast of Center. Bobby attended Center schools and James Community Church of Christ before leaving home at the age of 18 to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. During the Vietnam War era, he served 4 years in the Air Force security police at Strategic Air Command bases in Havre, Montana; Minot, North Dakota; and Offut, Nebraska.

Bobby used his GI bill to pursue specialized training in radio broadcasting. He spent several years of his productive adult life as a radio announcer and disc-jockey in New Orleans, as well as smaller radio markets, including KDET in Center. Bobby also obtained licenses to operate large offshore vessels and made a successful career as ships captain for some of the largest petroleum companies operating along the Gulf Coast.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Christina of Prentiss, MS, two granddaughters, Jacqueline Renee Crater and Kathy Lynn Crater, also of Prentiss, his sisters Joyce LaBoyteaux of Newton, TX and Gloria Lyons of Theodore, AL, his brother Philip Doyle of Fort Worth, TX, and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Bobby touched many lives and was loved by a great many folks. His happiest times were with his family and friends, playing his guitar and singing old time country songs. He will be dearly missed.

Donald “Red” Wilson, 64, of Center, passed away Monday, February 11, 2014 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born February 9, 1950 in Dallas County to Earl Wilson and Loue Ellen Pruitt Wilson. Mr. Wilson served in the United States Marine Corps. He attended McClelland Community Church in Shelbyville.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. A military honors graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Shelby County under the direction of VFW Post 8904 and Bro. Buddy Gray.

Born February 2, 1925, in Timpson, TX, Robert Earl Brittian “Bobby” Molloy was the son of the late Samuel Houston and Lola Mae (McFadden) Molloy. He was a 1943 graduate of Timpson High School and served in the U. S. Navy from 1943 – 1946. On March 18, 1947, he and Ruby Winnie Gary were married in Timpson. Bobby attended the University of Texas and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1950. He was a mechanical engineer with Gray Tool Company in Houston, was chaplain for Timpson American Legion Post #90 for many years, and was a deacon at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Ruby Winnie Molloy of Timpson; sons, Randall Earl Molloy and Larry Keith Molloy and wife Melonia, all of Timpson; grandchildren, Kevin Molloy and wife Erin, Stefanie McDonald and husband Greg, Isaiah Molloy, and Cpt. Jeremiah Soape, U.S. Army, and wife Holly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Robert “Bobby” Molloy was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Roma Molloy and numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Walter Arnold Hendricks, Jr., 86, of Lufkin will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Doyle and Bro. Vic Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Hendricks was born February 13, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas to Edith Mae (Priddy) and Walter Arnold Hendricks, Sr. He passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014.

Mr. Hendricks resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. He was an accomplished gunsmith and also a machinist for Lufkin Industries. Mr. Hendricks was a member of the Lufkin First Christian Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Irene Flurry Hendricks of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, David Hendricks of Lufkin, Ralph and Jan Hendricks of Houston, Ronnie and Laurie Hendricks of Nacogdoches and Joe and Kay Hendricks of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Dunn of Houston and Judy and Roger Doyle of Center; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Lynn Kornegay of DeSoto; great-aunt, Major Lillian Frances Priddy; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Bernice Adkison Hudman, 85, of Timpson, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014, at her home in Timpson. Born August 24, 1928, in Center, TX, she was the daughter of the late Elzie Carl Adkison and Dollie Hendricks Adkison. She graduated from Timpson High School in 1945, and on August 12, 1947, she and Noble Hudman were married in Timpson.

Bernice Hudman’s life was centered around her family. She loved caring for her family, providing delicious food for family and friends, quilting with her friends at Timpson RSVP, and traveling to Colorado.

Survivors include her sons, Jeff Hudman and wife Ann of Longview, TX, and Chris Hudman of Athens, TX; daughters, Johnnie Nix of Mt.
