Travis Warren Chandler, 79, of Nacogdoches, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Garrison. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Garrison with Bro. Jeremy Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Cold Springs Cemetery in Garrison.

Mr. Chandler was born January 24, 1936 in Garrison to W.C. Dock Chandler and Opal Rousseau Chandler. He loved to work on his antique cars, but most especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Cynthia (Sue,Cindy) Jeanette Weaver Traxler, 76, of the Neuville Community, Center, Texas, went to be with her heavenly Father Sunday, June 28, 2015.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Bryd officiating. Burial will follow at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

She was born September 14, 1938 in Logansport, LA to Delmar Jay Weaver and Hazel (Lewis) Weaver. Mrs. Traxler retired from Ferrell’s Veterinary Clinic in Silsbee, Texas after 25 years of service. There she learned to give large and small animals shots, draw blood and do lab tests. She was Past Matron of Silsbee Order of the Eastern Star for 2 years. She was active in Neuville Baptist Church, serving as teacher, W.M.U. treasurer, church treasurer and editor of the church bulletin.

When she and Lonnie moved to East Texas in 2001, all 3 of their children followed and live within a 3 mile radius of them. She was a very outgoing person and loved life, as her choice of songs will show. She never met a stranger and loved to travel.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Delmar J. Weaver, Hazel Weaver Thompson and Step-father, Marshall Thompson.

Helen Blanche Summers, 95, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2015, in Garrison, Texas. Helen was born on October 10, 1919 to her parents, Thomas Eugene Moore and Sally Sawyer.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 10:00-12:00 AM at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas. Funeral services will be immediately following at 12:00 PM. with Brother Nolan Ritchie and Brother Cliff Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Heights Cemetery, Mt. Enterprise, Texas.

Helen grew up in Fountain Hill, Arkansas where she attended high school. She met Frank Summers in Hamburg, Arkansas and they married on December 24, 1938, enjoying 70 years of marriage. Helen will be remembered by her children and grandchildren as loving to play games. Every time there was a gathering, Helen wanted to play games; Phase 10 being her favorite. She was also an accomplished singer, singing specials at church on many occasions. Until her health prevented her attendance, Helen was active in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Timpson.

Helen is survived by her sons, Jerry Summers and his wife, Cindy and Dale Summers and his wife, Cass; her daughter-in-law Joyce Summers; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank; her parents; son, Earl Eugene Summers; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Louise Waller, 84, a lifetime resident of Center, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Arkansas.

Ms. Waller was born April 7, 1931 in San Augustine to Adolph Yarbrough and Annie Mae Eddings Yarbrough. She was blessed with five children, whom she loved dearly. Ms. Waller was not only a devoted mother to her children, she was also a friend, a confidante, a fan, an advisor and so much more. She was also known as “MaMaw”, “Ammaw”, “Aunt Ease”, “Ease”, “Edith”, “Jimmie Lou”, “Sweet MaMah”, “Mama”, “Maw” and “Sweet Little Mama.” In her spare time, Ms. Waller enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Graveside services for Wanda Conway, 89, of Kilgore will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at Ramah Cemetery in Teneha, Texas with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Mrs. Conway passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Kilgore.

Wanda was born on November 8, 1925 in Lambertville, Michigan to the late Carl and Edith Shoup. Mrs. Conway has resided in Kilgore since 1986 and is a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was life member of the VFW Auxiliary and past president of the VFW Post 6524 in Kilgore. Wanda worked as a automatic operator for Western Union from 1943 until 1945. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano and spending time with her family. Mrs. Conway was loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Conway; son, Jimmy Lee Teel; four brothers and one sister.

Tommy Lloyd Bailey, 51, of Broaddus, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 in Lufkin.

Mr. Bailey was born October 15, 1963 in California to Billy Bailey and Margaret Busby Bailey. He was a member of Madison Masonic Lodge #126 in Orange, Powelltown Volunteer Fire Department in Broaddus, where he served as Fire Chief and Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church in Broaddus, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Bailey was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a very generous man, a leader in his community, a hero to many and a friend to all.

Edythe Leigh Ratcliff Davidson (Edie Wee) age 59, of Logansport, LA, passed away May 3, 2015 in Bossier City, LA following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on June 20, 2015 at Mims Springs Baptist Church, 1227 HWY 764, Logansport LA.

Edie Wee was born in Mansfield LA, on October 24, 1955, to Thomas W. and Aileen Pyle Ratcliff. She was a member of Mims Springs Baptist Church. She recently moved home to Logansport after residing in Missouri several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronnie Ratcliff. Left to cherish her memory is her son Chad Ratcliff and wife Tina of El Paso, AR, sisters Gwen Ratcliff Truitt and husband Don of Logansport, Tempie Ratcliff Bush and husband Keith of Bossier City, special grandson Tanner and his Mom, Chris Marshall of Missouri, granddaughter Brooke Davis and great granddaughter Lilly, by several nieces and nephews, many loving cousins, and friends. We will all miss her smile and big personality!

Burlene Moore Cardwell Anderson, 99, of Timpson passed away Friday, May 30, 2015 at Garrison Nursing Home in Garrison, Nacogdoches county, Texas. It was her wishes to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Born September 7, 1915 in the Henning community, near Garrison, Nacogdoches county, Texas to Eugene Graham Moore and Leola Davis Moore. Burlene was the sixth of eight children born to these parents.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Timpson, Blair Garden Club, and Blair Community Quilters. She enjoyed raising beautiful flowers in her yard, reading, and being with family and friends.

Survivors include grandsons: Gordon Thomas Garrett and wife Donna, John Cardwell Garrett and wife Lea. Six great-grandchildren: Sean, Sharon, J.C., Kaylon, Jan Leigh, and Joseph, and several great-great grandchildren.

Odelle Lister Coleman, 88, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at her home. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11th at Union Baptist Church, 1601 SW Charles W. Whitlow Avenue in Lawton, Oklahoma. Dr. C. W. Whitlow, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Post Cemetery at Fort Sill.

A wake will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10th in the Chapel of Howard-Harris Funeral Services, 1005 SW C Avenue. Viewing will be from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Coleman was born July 25, 1926, in the Todd Spring Community of Shelby County, Texas, to Willie Elzie Lister, Sr. and Dolena Chumley Lister. She was the second of six children. She attended the public schools of Center, Texas, and graduated from C.H. Daniels High School with further studies at the College of Cosmetology in Tyler, Texas. She worked for several years at Toombs Beauty Shop in Center. She retired as a licensed beautician in the early 1970s.

She married her husband of 61 years, Booker G. Coleman, on September. 6, 1953. This union was blessed with two children, Anita and Steven. A military wife, Odelle traveled extensively with her husband.

Early in life, she was united with and was baptized at Todd Spring Baptist Church in Shelby County, Texas. Having moved to Lawton in the early 1960s, Odelle united with Union Baptist Church where she served as chair of the Decorations Committee and a member of the Culinary Committee. She enjoyed serving meals and decorating the church for special events and holidays. She also was a member of the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), and remained faithful until her health no longer permitted her to serve in these ministries which she so loved.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Booker G. Coleman, of the home; three children: Anita R. Scott and son-in-law Col. Will Scott Jr. of Lawton; Steven R. Coleman and wife Debra of Rowlett, Texas and Gilford B. Coleman and wife Ida of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren: Cicretia N. Lusk, Katrina R. Scott, William D. Scott, III, Elise Coleman and Scott Coleman; a great-grandson, Harrison Coleman; two sisters-in-law: Norma Lister and Joy Etta Lister of Center, Texas; and many nephews, nieces and supportive friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Rubye L. Biggers and four brothers: James O. Lister, Willie E. Lister, Jr., Vinnie S. Lister and Clyde H. Lister, Sr.

Mrs. McFadden is survived by her son: Jeff Burleson; grandchildren, Airiel J. Burleson, and Heather S. Burleson; sisters, Janis Gregston of Nacogdoches and Mary Myers of Nacogdoches; She is also survived by other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis McFadden and Effie J. Smith Edwards.

Don Lewis Watkins was born on Jan. 18, 1946, in Center, TX to the late Robert “Buck” and Era Spurlock Watkins. He graduated from Tenaha High School with the class of 1965. He married Darla Lake on Jan. 3, 1987 in Timpson. Don was a member of the Tenaha Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Watkins.

Bobbie Jean Mardis, 80 , of Center, Texas passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 in Nacogdoches Medical Center. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Mardis on Saturday, June 6th starting at 1pm at the Jehovah's Witnesses' Kingdom House.

Bobbie Jean Mardis was born Bobbie Jean Sanders on Octrober 10, 1034 to the late Booker T and Edith Sanders.

Shirley Ann Askew, 77, of Center, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Center.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.

Shirley was born December 17, 1937 in the Sexton Community of Sabine County, Texas to Kit Carson Vines and Lola Williamson Vines. She grew up and attended school in Center, graduating with the Center High School Class of 1956. Shirley worked for a number of years with a Home Health visiting nurse program. First Baptist Church in Center was her church home and she worked for some time with the Preschool Sunday School Department.

Olan Ray Cockrell, 70, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sholar Cemetery in Joaquin. Visitation will be Wednesday starting at 12 Noon until service time at Mangum Funeral Home.

He was born March 24, 1945 in Beaumont to Robert Earl and Gladys (Whiddon) Cockrell. He retired from Southern Utilities in Tyler.

Virginia Lewis Jones, 90, of Center, went home to be with the Lord, May 31, 2015.

She was born December 11, 1924 to Irene and H.W. “Harry” Lewis in Beaumont, Texas, where her father was with Gulf Oil. They later were transferred to Chester, Texas. After graduating from Chester High school, she met and married Jimmy E. Jones. In the early 50’s, they moved to Center, where they opened clothing stores and worked most of their married lives. She used her talents in buying and merchandizing for the ladies stores. She found great joy in her home, her family and her church. She especially loved her friends in The Martha Class and looked forward to seeing them on Sunday mornings.
