Samantha Jo Baldwin passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2017 at the age of 27. She is the daughter of James and Elizabeth Baldwin, granddaughter of Doris and James Baldwin and Linda and Johnny Dollar. Samantha was raised in Logansport, attended the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches, and graduated from Stanley High School in 2008. She received many scholarship offers, including to Yale University, and attended the University of New Orleans on a full scholarship, with a passion for literature and art. Samantha was a bright, talented and beautiful soul who was taken from her family and friends too soon.
She is survived by her two-year-old son Richard Brent Wilssens III, who she loved more than anything; father, James Baldwin; sister, Jamie Baldwin Inglis; brother-in-law, Nicholas Inglis; niece, Lola Inglis; nephew, Cameron Miller; partner, Brent Wilssens; and many aunts, cousins, and friends.
