Ira J. Caraway, 63 of Tenaha, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 in a crash in Nacogdoches County.
Funeral services will be Saturday January 23, 2021 held at First Assembly of God Church, 652 Houston Street, Timpson, Texas 75975 at 11am. Mask are required to help prevent Covid-19.
Ira James Caraway was born on September 20, 1957 in Timpson, Texas. He was the third of nine children, born to the parentage of Odell and Sammie Caraway.
At an early age, he joined New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church where he attended and served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, head of Pastor Aide Committee until his death.
He attended and graduated from Timpson High School in 1976. He attended SFA where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in animal science and agriculture. He worked at Eaton Power Systems (formerly Cooper Power Systems) for 40 plus years. He loved his family, church, sports and helping anyone who asked.
