Myrtie Lanell Flournoy Huff, age 79, of Spring, Texas, formally Hemphill, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 in Houston, Texas.
Lanell was born September 5, 1938 in the Norwood Community of San Augustine County, Texas to Luther Dewey Flournoy and Gladys Evelyn Smith Flournoy. She graduated from Hemphill High School, Class of 1956. She retired from Walmart and moved to Spring to be closer to her family. She loved spending time with her family, crocheting, and playing bingo.
Lanell is survived by her Children Charles Jr. (Chuck) and Patti Ann Huff, Carl Huff, Casey and Beth Huff, and Lisa and Jim Albers; grandchildren, Jamie and Blake Kerman, Bradley and Ashley Huff, Cambri and Aaron Harris, Casey Huff II, Carli Huff, Caylin Huff, Casey Foley, Blake Foley, Aric and Laura Albers, Jeremy Albers, Cody Albers; 17 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Dewey Flournoy; mother, Gladys Evelyn Smith Flournoy; brothers, Dewey Flournoy and Curtis Flournoy; sister Wilma Parker
Pallbearers will be Bradley Huff, Casey Huff II, Blake Foley, Aaron Harris, Blake Kerman, and Logan Harris.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday July10, 2018 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July11, 2018 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, San Augustine, Texas.
