Nettie A. Swindell, 76, of Nacogdoches, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in Nacogdoches.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Watson & Sons Chapel. Bro. Paul Sevar will officiate. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
Born February 25, 1945, in Haslam, Nettie is the daughter of Larry L. Parker and Geneva Lorene Rich Parker. She worked in the banking industry for over thirty-five years. Her hobbies included gardening, traveling, arts and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren who knew her as “Gaga”. Nettie was a member of First United Methodist Church in Joaquin and had recently joined Calvary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches.
She is survived by:
Daughter, Kandi Thompson and husband Mark of Nacogdoches
Grandchildren: Landon, Jordan, and Jenna Thompson of Nacogdoches

Preceded in death by husband, Jim Swindell; parents, Larry L. Parker and Geneva Lorene Rich Parker; brother, Clifton Parker, J.W. Parker, Jimmy Parker; and sister, Geneva Whitten.
Pallbearers will be Mark Thompson, Landon Thompson, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Hartman, Tim Bonner, and Wayne Swan.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Nacogdoches Medical Center and Hospice of East Texas for the excellent care and support provided.
