Patrick Jason Powers, 42 of Timpson.

Nothing in life prepares you for the death of a child. Forty-two years ago God brought a very special gift of a green eyed redheaded beautiful little boy into our lives. Some of you wouldn’t know about the red hair because he has been bald for the last few years. Patrick Jason Powers was born February 21, 1968 and went to the arms of Jesus Friday, July 9, 2010. He was a graduate of Lufkin High School and a member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church and Timpson Masonic Lodge.

Our hearts are broken but we know that Patrick loved the Lord with all his heart and we know where he is but we already miss him and will forever feel the emptiness and pain of not being able to talk to him, see him, laugh with him, fuss with him and all the other things we did as a loving family. He worked construction all his adult life and was gone away from home much of the time but he always loved coming back to his home in Timpson and working with his daddy on the ranch. Hunting, fishing and anything outdoors was his passion, that is besides his beautiful daughter, Morgan Allyssa, who he loved more than anything on this earth and would do anything she asked of him. His brother, Justin, was his best friend and his duck hunting buddy. They didn’t get together as often as they would have liked but they made the most of every chance they had and always had a ball.

Patrick is such a special person and blessing to all his family and his many friends. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure that you will hold close to your heart until you meet again. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” I Cor. 2:9.

Funeral services for Patrick Jason Powers will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 12, 2010, at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Justin Coburn and Bro. Elmer Mathews officiating. Interment will follow in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter Morgan Allyssa Powers of Lufkin, TX; parents Jim and Shirley Powers of Timpson; grandmother Helen Hudson of Timpson; brother Justin Powers and wife Kristin of Martinsville, TX; niece and nephew Rexanna and Haylon Powers of Martinsville; special aunt and uncle, Louise and Johnny Renfro of Timpson; and numerous other relatives and friends. Patrick was preceded in death by grandfather Ossie Hudson and grandparents Emmett and Ruth Powers.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson. To convey condolences or to register online, please visit www.taylorfh.net. Taylor Funeral Home, 511 Ross Graves Dr., Timpson, TX 75975, is in charge of arrangements.
