Mrs. Hansen touched the lives of many as she taught business related subjects in high schools in Houston TX ISD, various small schools in Iowa, Wilmer-Hutchins TX ISD, WW Samuel in Dallas ISD, and then retired from Center TX ISD.  These various assignments totaled over 30 years of teaching.  In addition to her teaching duties, Pauline was the Wilmer-Hutchins superintendent’s secretary, started the Vocational Office Education (VOE) program in WW Samuel and again in Center schools, and assisted with the cafeteria reporting for Center ISD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jens, a sister Rosa Lee Edge and her husband Eldon, a brother Robert E. (Emory) Hancock and his wife Martha, a sister Bobbie Jean McDaniel and her husband Byron.
