November 10, 2022 - Watlington & Shires Productions in cooperation with the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and the University Interscholastic League (UIL) will live stream the Bi-District Round (Rd 1) of the following county games:
- Timpson v Groveton, Thursday, November 10 at 7:00 (from Jasper, TX)
- Center v Liberty-Eylau, Friday, November 11 at 7:30 (from Hallsville, TX)
Though district games are property of the individual schools and W&S Productions had permission from CISD to stream those games on twitch.tv, there will be no stream on twitch of any playoff games by rule of the UIL.
“We have partnered with the UIL who has given us permission through NFHS to stream the games. That’s the good news,” Stephen Shires said. “The not-so-good news is that all playoff game live streams are only available through pay-per-view. The UIL sold rights to the National Federation and they sell the games to you through pay-per-view arrangements.”
Here’s how you access the stream: log on to www.nfhsnetwork.com and in the upper right corner select “Subscribe Now.” Subscriptions are $11.99 per month and are good for any high school games in the country selected for streaming. After you subscribe, there is a menu to find the games you want to see. You will be accessing the state video presentation of the game and will be accessed by fans of both teams.
“Of course Shires and I are excited to get to do Center, but we’re very excited to be able to work with other county schools,” Chris Watlington said. “We will do Timpson this week and, assuming our county schools advance to Round 2, we hope to carry Joaquin or Shelbyville or Tenaha as well. Our arrangement with NFHS allows us to carry as many games as we are able to get broadcast crews. Pretty cool.”
- The Timpson Pregame is scheduled to begin at 6:45 (circumstances allowing).
- The Center Pregame is scheduled to begin at 7:00.
