December 18, 2017 - The University of Texas at Tyler held fall 2017 commencement ceremonies December 15 – 16 and among the degree candidates recognized were two Shelby County graduates - Maggie Elizabeth Bush, a Timpson ISD graduate and Meagan Leigh Nehring, a Center ISD graduate.
Commencement speakers and the ceremonies during which they spoke were John E. Soules, Sr., chairman of the board at John Soules Foods – Colleges of Nursing and Health Sciences and Arts and Sciences, and James I. Perkins, president and chairman of Citizens 1st Bank – Colleges of Business and Technology, Education and Psychology and Engineering.
All ceremonies were held in the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
