April 11, 2018 - The Center Police Department and Ladies Auxiliary hosted a celebration on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 to honor their dispatchers for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
Dispatchers enjoyed cake donated by Wal-Mart and punch along with a gift which included a sign with their name and gift cards from Little Caesar’s pizza and Sonic.
Chief of Police Jim Albers advised the department has 10 dispatchers with some working full-time and others part-time. Albers advised somebody has to be there to answer when citizen's call.
