October 3, 2023 - The Center Roughrider Tennis team defeated the Hudson Hornets for the 4A Region 3 District 17 Championships on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Leon Dykes Tennis Facility.
The Riders were up 9-2 in the team tournament when rain started. After waiting on a break in the rain and then working to dry the courts, another drizzle fell. Shortly after, Hudson conceded the tournament and Center Riders became the District 17 Champions.
The Bi-District round is next against either Franklin or Madisonville (District 18).
District 17 schools are Center, Hudson, Palestine, Rusk, Crockett, Lufkin Pineywoods, Community Academy, and Palestine Westwood.
