January 10, 2019 - We are proud to announce the Excelsior ISD School Spelling Bee! The Spelling Bee will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 9am in the Excelsior School gym. We are excited to demonstrate the spelling skills these students have acquired and look forward to the academic competition.
Families of the competing students are invited to the school Spelling Bee. However, the audience is subject to the 2019 Local Spelling Bee rules. These rules will be made available on the day of the Spelling Bee. No pictures will be allowed during the spelling competition, but there will be a designated time before and after for pictures. Please come out and support your speller!

The timeline is as follows:
- Tuesday, January 15, 2019 – The Excelsior School Spelling Bee will be held at 9am. The champion and an alternate will advance to the District/ Regional Spelling Bee.
- Saturday, February 2, 2019 – School Champions compete in District/Regional Spelling Bee at Lufkin High School. (Alternate will attend Regional Spelling Bee, but will only compete if champion is unable to)
- Saturday, March 23, 2019 –Regional Champion will compete at Houston Public Media Spelling Bee
- Sunday, May 26, 2019 – Houston Public Media champion will attend Scripps National Spelling Bee
