Happy Birthday VFW and Auxiliary!

September 28, 2018 - The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Auxiliary passed out birthday cupcakes to employees working around the Center Square on Friday, September 28th. The VFW is celebrating its 118th Birthday and the Auxiliary is celebrating its 103rd Birthday.

VFW Post 8904 and the Post Auxiliary hold the majority of their memorials for Patriotic Days and remembrances on the Center Downtown Square all throughout the year making it the ideal place to celebrate their birthdays. The community is always invited and encouraged to attend these events. Some Patriotic Days include: Veterans Day (November 11th), Pearl Harbor Day (December 7th), Memorial Day (May 30), Independence Day (July 4), Patriot Day (September 11), Loyalty Day (May 1st), POW/MIA Recognition Day (third Friday in September), and Flag Day (June 14). Additional days remember each war and engagement the United States has been engaged in. Additional initiative days are held including Buddy Poppy day and the VFW/Auxiliary Birthday days.
