August 4, 2021 - 'It Is Not All Downhill From Here'... Giving credit to Terry McMillan, the author of this novel, I agree with her. After turning 70 one might think it is. It seems as if your body is not as young as your mind thinks you are at the time. Many are stricken with pains in the joints, or consistent coughs, or accidental falls. Added now is the fear of getting the virus that is causing this world wide pandemic. Hold on to faith and your belief that all will be well with your body and soul.
Many seniors are not taking advantage of the many opportunities provided for their use. There are fitness centers that help, senior centers that help, and many other services in the community just for them. Do not forget the church services. Most churches have used virtual means of communicating which has perhaps had more listeners or viewers than attendance in person before the pandemic shut down. Use of these can be very helpful and will lift your spirits up high, not consistently down. Start now in believing that ‘It is not all downhill from a 70 plus birthday,’ just be thankful and blessed that you made it this far in life.
