May 9, 2017 - Shelbyville Lions Club President Glenn Johnson presented a $250 donation check during the Lions Club meeting held on May 1, 2017 to Sally Wilburn, Shelbyville ISD teacher and coordinator in support of the Special Olympics hosted by Shelbyville school district on April 27, 2017.
The Shelbyville Lions Club prepared and gave away free funnel cakes for the participants, coaches and supporters of the event and also sold numerous funnel cakes to visitors that enabled them to make the monetary donation. This is the second year the club has assisted with the Special Olympics event. The Shelbyville Lions Club is looking forward to the next Special Olympics event held at Shelbyville ISD.
If interested in joining the club, the Shelbyville group meets every first Monday of the month at the First Baptist Church in Shelbyville at 6pm.
