Shelbyville's Equallia Malone to Launch Her First Book

February 10, 2012 - Shelby County native Equallia Malone will launch her first book, "The Love of A Man... Jesus" on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 12pm - 4pm at Holiday Inn Express North in Longview, Texas. Ms. Malone will then introduce her book to Shelby County on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 11am - 1pm at Dance Funiture, Selma Street, Center, Texas.

Equallia Malone attended Shelbyville school through 10th grade and then moved to Dallas where she graduated in 1989 from Pinkston High School. After graduation, Ms. Malone attended Panola College. Ms. Malone currently resides in Longview, Texas but still considers Shelbyville to be home. Ms. Malone has one son, DeQuincy, 18, who attends Center Christian Academy in Center.

When ask why she wrote this book, she stated, "The Lord inspired me to write The Love of a Man...Jesus. The Lord gave me this assignment and I asked him to help me find a good publisher. One morning I was watching Joel Ostein and during his show he testified about his first book and how his publisher helped him. I went and bought his book and contacted the publisher." Ms. Malone stated she worked on the book for a year and dedicated it to a former patient of hers, Mr. Harmon H. Brumble.
