Tenaha ISD Notifies Parents of Thursday Threat, Hoax

November 3, 2016 - According to a Facebook post on Tenaha Tiger Spirit, the school notified all Tenaha ISD stakeholders of a potential threat made earlier today which turned out to be a hoax.

Facebook Post made at 3:23pm, Thursday, November 3rd: Earlier today, officials received an anonymous threat of a potential device in the restroom. Tenaha ISD administration immediately sheltered in place, then quickly moved all students to their designated safe location inside the Tenaha Football Stadium. We are also appreciative and happy to report that both the Tenaha City Marshal and the Shelby County Sheriff's office responded quickly and assisted TISD Police Chief in clearing every room, cabinet, and area. We are pleased to report that the threat was, in fact, a hoax and TISD will be working with all relevant law enforcement agencies to try and identify the source of the alert. All TISD children are safe and have been told what occurred and are completing the school day on schedule.
