The Timpson Bears varsity football team took a 48-13 state quarterfinal win over the Centerville Tigers. The game was close at 14-13 at the midway intermission but the Bears were able to outscore the Tigers 34-0 during the second half of play.
The Timpson Bears varsity football team won 42-21 over the Beckville Bearcats in a Texas UIL Region III Semifinal Elimination game on Friday. The Bears remain unbeaten with a 11-0 record. Timpson came in as the winner of District 10 2A-1 and Beckville (11-1) was the unbeaten representative of District 11 2A-1.
The Timpson Bears are the sole Shelby County varsity football team left as Texas UIL football competition heads to the Regional Semifinal week of elimination play.
The Joaquin Rams varsity football team was eliminated from the Texas UIL Football Playoff when they suffered a 50-25 elimination loss to the Beckville Bearcats. The game was a bi-district playoff between the two teams and was played at Henderson Lions Stadium, a neutral site.
Carthage Bulldog Stadium on Thursday November 11, 2021 –
In a fast-paced high scoring game, the Shelbyville Dragons varsity football team outlasted the Carlisle Indians and won by a 53-43 score. The game was a UIL Bi-District Playoff played at Carthage Bulldogs Stadium, a neutral site for both teams.
Four of Shelby County’s Five varsity football teams are headed to the Bi-district level of the UIL Playoffs.
The Center Roughriders were narrowly eliminated from the playoffs with a 48-45 loss to the Rusk Eagles. Center ended their season with a 1-9 overall record and a fifth place 1-4 District 10 4A-2 mark.
The Timpson Bears varsity football team blew a close game wide open when they outscored the Shelbyville Dragons 35-0 in the final 15:45 minutes of the contest.
