November 19, 2015 - Sometime between the dates of October 10, 2015 and November 4, 2015 suspect(s) unknown burglarized the residence of the late Shorty Goings located on County Road 2517 in Shelbyville, Texas.
Update: On Friday, November 13th, 2015 at 05:05pm, Derrek Monroe Hughes turned himself in at the Shelby County Sheriff's Department and was booked for the warrant of Theft of Livestock, Felony 3.
November 9, 2015 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of Keifer Joel Nelson, 17, of Joaquin. Nelson was last seen November 2 at approximately 3 a.m.
October 28, 2015 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) is seeking the whereabouts of Norman Louis Wood. Wood is described as a white male, 5'9, 160 pounds, 47 years of age with brown hair and green eyes. His last know location of residence was the area of Highway 84 in Joaquin.
October 5, 2015 - According to two press releases from the Sheriff's Department, a man was charged for aggravated kidnapping and in a separate case a woman was charged with burglary of a habitation. Both were arrested in July 2015. Neither case has been indicted by a Shelby County Grand Jury as of October 5, 2015.
Deron Vodre Bowlds, 22, of Logansport, Louisiana was arrested July 7, 2015 after allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend, Jessica Lee Barber, causing seriously bodily injury, stemming from an incident that occurred June 29, 2015.
September 22, 2015 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) is investigating a burglary that occurred September 21, 2015 at approximately 11:09 p.m. at Blount Pharmacy on U.S. Highway 84 East in Joaquin.
SCSO deputies Michael Griffin and Bradley Horton arrived on scene to find a substantial amount of damage to the front of the structure caused from unknown suspects attempting to remove a metal door.
September 22, 2015 - According to the press release, Shelby County Sheriff Sheriff Willis Blackwell said on July 24 a complainant contacted the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) to report missing items including toolboxes and a window unit air conditioner from his residence. September 11, 2015 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is experiencing excessive amounts of 911 calls from children who are using cell phones for play. Cell phones that are no longer being used whether they are activated or deactivated – with or without a SIM card, are still able to place emergency calls.
Parents and guardians need to be aware that they are responsible for children who call 911. Abuse of emergency service calls can lead to your arrest.
