August 29, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will celebrate with the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center and CASA of East Texas at their new jointly occupied location at 131 Tenaha Street on Tuesday, August 30, at 4pm.
The move is made possible by the generosity of the Davis Foundation after they acquired the former Griffin Law Office building.
August 18, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public to a new member ribbon cutting for Children’s Dental Center, on Thursday, August 25 at 4:00 p.m., with owner Dr. Thomas Youngblood. Children’s Dental Center is located at 128 Nacogdoches Street in Center. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Thomas Youngblood and his children’s dentistry team offer comprehensive dental care for patients from six months to 20 years old.
August 19, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the East Texas Poultry Festival will be October 6-8 on the historic downtown square. One of several preliminary festivities is the Queen's Court Scholarship Pageant. The reigning East Texas Poultry Festival Queen, Camaryn Smith, will crown her successor on Saturday, October 1 on stage at Center High School.
August 19, 2016 - The deadline to apply for an Arts and Crafts vendor booth at the 40th East Texas Poultry Festival sponsored by Farmers State Bank has been extended to Friday, September 2. The festival will take place October 6-8 on the historic downtown Center Square. Limited spaces are still available and the applications are being accepted at the Shelby County Chamber office.
August 15, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce will welcome the Leadership Shelby County Class of 2017 with a casual dinner at Sombreros on Wednesday, August 17. The Leadership Shelby County committee and alumni will be the hosts and hostess for the event. Leadership Shelby County is a yearlong program designed to identify potential leaders and develop within these individuals the knowledge, skills and vision necessary to enable them to actively participate in the enhancement of their communities.

Affinity Hospice provides a team of professionals and volunteers that work with the family during an illness and provides a special way of caring for patients facing end of life decisions.
August 10, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public to join them at a relocation ribbon cutting for Sassy Red’s Inc., on Thursday, August 11 at 2:00 p.m. at their new location at 1000 Tenaha Street in Center. Refreshments will be served.
Sassy Red’s Bakery has relocated and merged with Margaret’s Lamb and Lion Bookstore to become Sassy Red’s Inc. They offer daily confections as well as special order items, Christian books, Bibles, music, and gifts.
August 5, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public to join them at Southern Seasons Open House, on Friday, August 5 at 2:00 p.m. at 5075 State Highway 87 South in Shelbyville. Refreshments will be served and there will be door prize drawings.
Southern Seasons is featuring Hazel Pearl Designs, the in store boutique, that showcases repainted wood furniture in junktique style. Everyone will have the opportunity to meet the artist, Jaeleigh Davis.
