December 6, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Parade Committee invite the public to view the City of Center Christmas Parade float on Wednesday, December 7. The Christmas Parade float will be on display from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Civic Center, located at 146 Express Boulevard in Center.
The City of Center lighted exhibit will welcome visitors with candy and a wave from Santa. The float has been designed and engineered by city employees.
December 6, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors along with Mooney’s Emporium will host a Business After Hours event on Tuesday, December 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mooney’s Emporium is located at 107 San Augustine St. on the downtown Center square.
November 28, 2016 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors along with Mooney’s Emporium will welcome Chamber members to a Business After Hours event on Tuesday, December 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 107 San Augustine Street. Chelle Mooney will showcase their newest inventory items.
December 3, 2016 - In spite of the optimism of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce parade committee, Santa’s 2016 Christmas parade has been cancelled for Saturday, December 3 with an alternate plan.
In respect of all endeavors a virtual parade will be developed for the Chamber and public websites. Registered parade participants may submit a video of their parade entry to be included in the collage by calling or emailing the Chamber office by 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 5 of desire to be included.
December 2, 2016 - With Santa’s Christmas Parade scheduled for Saturday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m. the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade committee is in communication with City officials and the National Weather Service to monitor conditions.
With a forecast of inclement weather, every effort is being made to avoid any danger due to extreme harmful weather conditions for parade entrants, vendors, as well as attendees. The safety of all is of utmost priority.
December 2, 2016 - Santa Claus is coming to town this Saturday, December 3. Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade Committee Chairman Randy Collard reports that during the parade afternoon the Daughters of the Republic William Carroll Crawford Chapter will host tours of the First Ladies in Texas Building on the historic downtown Center Square prior to Santa’s Christmas Parade, presented by Shelby Savings Bank.
November 21, 2016 - This year’s “O Christmas Tree” themed parade attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy funnel cakes, cookies, popcorn, Frito pie, hot chocolate, coffee, soft drinks and other festive delights starting at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. Participating vendors include Jackson Missionary Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Shelbyville Lions Club. Vendors will be located on the Courthouse lawn and Shelbyville Lions Club will be on the sidewalk at Gatherings.
November 11, 2016 - Santa Claus recently delivered an invitation to Ann Forbes to serve as Grand Marshal of the 17th annual Santa’s Christmas Parade, in honor of the memory of her husband, Jim Forbes.
