September 22, 2017 - Car crashes kill more young people than any other cause, accounting for nearly half of all teen deaths in America each year. About 2,800 U.S. teens die each year in car crashes; that's the equivalent of a school bus loaded with teenagers crashing once every week for an entire year. Started in 2002, Teens in the Driver Seat is the first peer to peer program for teens that focuses solely on traffic safety and addresses all major risks for this age group. This program is sponsored by the Texas A & M Transportation Institute.

May 3, 2017 - Timpson High School won 3rd place in the artwork/slogan contest sponsored by TXDOT. The artwork was created by senior, Hortencia Jimenez and promoted safe driving habits. The award amount will be $1,000. The award will be used for Project Graduation. Congratulations!
April 12, 2017 - Danielle Smith, a teacher at Timpson ISD, shared with Shelby County Today information about the program ‘Teens in the Driver Seat.’ She encourages teens to participate in the program by downloading the app today and compete tomorrow.
March 22, 2017 - Recently The Family and Community Services class in conjunction with FCCLA conducted a survey of licensed drivers as part of the Teens in the Driver Seat program.
The results are being posted to encourage the student's peers and parents to discuss the dangers of distracted driving.

November 3, 2016 - Timpson FCCLA is selling poinsettias for $10.00 regular, $12.00 one in a basket with a bow, and $25.00 two in a basket with a bow. The deadline to order is Friday, November 11th.
