The roots of those who live in East Texas run deep and strong. The area is known as the gateway to Texas. Texas heritage and culture are everywhere – from historic downtowns, restored buildings, landmarks, and designated historical sites.
December 13, 2019 Nacogdoches – Mary Raum, Tourism Marketing Manager for Visit Palestine, was elected Secretary / Treasurer of the Texas Forest Trail Region at the board meeting held earlier this year.
October 2, 2019 - The Board of Directors of the Texas Forest Trail Region welcomes Del Polikretis as their new Executive Director. Polikretis currently serves as a managing member of ETXLife.com, an East Texas lifestyle blog, guide and market. Polikretis will assume his duties when current Forest Trail director Marty Prince steps down in October.
November 16, 2017 Nacogdoches – The Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Texas Forest Trail Region welcome Dana Goolsby as new Special Projects Coordinator. Goolsby owns My East Texas (MYETX.com) and is a freelance writer and photographer, with her most recent works appearing in Texas Highways Magazine, the Official Travel Magazine of Texas. She will assume her duties with the Forest Trail immediately.
