Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Announces Dinner, Auction Event

Featuring Chicken Cooking Contest, Rooster Revel

August 31, 2015 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce announces the collaboration of the Chicken Cooking Contest and the Rooster Revel with “A Dinner Auction” event beginning at 5pm immediately following the 39th East Texas Poultry Festival Doo Dah parade on Super Wednesday, September 23, 2015 on the north side of the historic downtown Center square. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move to the active Shelby County Courthouse community room.

Poultry Festival to Host Quilt, Can-a-Rams and Honey Shows

August 31, 2015 - The 39th East Texas Poultry Festival will be featuring local Creative Arts through the annual Quilt Show and new this year, a Can-A-Rama and Honey Show featuring canned goods and locally produced honey.

Here is your opportunity to showcase your grandmother’s heirloom quilt or your own handiwork in quilting, canning, and honey production. Creative Arts will be on display at both the Historic Courthouse and First Ladies of Texas building on October 1, 2 & 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.

East Texas Poultry Festival Entertainment Committee Seeks Talent

August 28, 2015 - The 39th East Texas Poultry Festival, presented by Farmers State Bank, is fast approaching. The Poultry Festival is slated for October 1, 2 and 3 and the Entertainment Committee chairs, Danny Paul and Sally Windham, are seeking volunteer talented artist to perform on the Frances Oates Stage, sponsored by Specter, Inc. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 1 will be “Big Tent Open Mic” open to anyone that wishes to share their talent.

Shelby County Teacher of the Year Presented by Cline Family Medicine

May 19, 2015 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Teacher Appreciation reception hosted by the Shelby County Chamber and presented by Cline Family Medicine will be held on Wednesday, May 20th at the Windham Civic Center in Center at 4:00 p.m. The reception is held annually to salute and recognize the dedicated administrations and teaching staff of all the Shelby County school districts.
