2019 Holiday Hoops Basketball Tournament Wrap Up

Saturday saw local and other Texas high school basketball teams compete in final round action at Tenaha’s 11th Annual Holiday Hoops Basketball Tournament.

The finale for the tournament was the girl’s and boy’s tournament championships. Girl’s action saw Martin’s Mill’s get their 100th consecutive win and the Holiday Hoops title by defeating the Edgewood Lady Bulldogs by a 49-25 score. This game was preceded by a third-place tournament playoff with local girl’s teams from Tenaha and Timpson. The Timpson Lady Bears came away with this game by taking a 52-25 victory over the Lady Tigers.

The Boy’s Title game between the Shelbyville Dragons and the Little River Academy Bees went the Bees way as they fought off a Shelbyville comeback to come away with the title trophy and win by a score of 62-60. Earlier third round boy’s play saw the hometown Tenaha Tigers take the third-place title by defeating the Tatum Eagles by a 77-55 margin.

Forty Texas high school basketball teams competed in this year’s tourney which started on Thursday and ran through Saturday.
