Required education: Dental Assistant Certificate from an accredited school of dentistry. Annual continuing education as required by the Texas Board of Dental Examiners. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification. Part-Time Jailer Position

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office has openings available for part-time jailers. Applicants must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screen and psychology screening. Applicants must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma. The positions will require nights, holidays and weekends. Shifts are eight (8) hours per day. We are looking for mature and responsible individuals who are willing to learn and will show up for their shifts. This position requires knowledge of computer skills. Seasonal Deputy Position

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for a seasonal Deputy position. The job will last from April 1 through September 1, 2019. The primary duty of this position will be supervising outside trustees with grounds maintenance and other assigned duties. This is a part-time position, three (3) days per week and no benefits are available. Pay for this position is $19.41 per hour. Minimum Qualifications: Must hold a current Basic (or higher) Peace Officer Certification from TCOLE. Full-Time Deputy Position

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for a full-time Patrol Deputy. This position performs a wide variety of law enforcement activities. Tasks are service and protection oriented and includes collecting and dispensing information, arbitrating disputes, providing assistance, protecting and recovering property, preventing and investigating crime, and providing other public protection services. Duties include an element of personal danger; i.e., exposure to life-threatening circumstances, apprehending criminals, and transporting prisoners. The incumbent must be able to act without close supervision and must be able to exercise independent judgment. Incumbents perform duties in accordance with Federal, State, and Local statutes and established departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Performs related work as required.
