January 28, 2016 - Thursday night Feb 4 CHS will host the 47th Annual Powderpuff Classic at Roughrider Stadium. The annual flag football game featuring the Purple Senior & Freshmen Gridiron Gladiators v the Gold Junior & Sophomore Team will cost $3 for adults and $2 for students. Proceeds benefit the Center senior class.
In addition to the game, the evening features the lovely Powderpuff Cheerleaders, the talented Powderpuff Chaparrals, and the CHS Fightin' Powderpuff Band and twirling line. At halftime, we will meet the Powderpuff Duchesses and crown the 2016 Powderpuff Queen.
The concession stand will be open, proceeds benefitting the CHS Band Boosters and junior class.
Historically the game is nearly even with the Purple Seniors and Freshmen winning 25, the Gold Juniors and Sophomores winning 20, and the teams tying two contests in the 1970s.
"It's exciting being a part of Powderpuff history," senior coach Dacorey Mcgee said. "We all appreciate Mr. Watlington making up all the historical facts that no one can remember."
The gate will open at 5:30 and kick-off will be at 6:30.
