AgriLife, Abundant Love Ministries to Host Well Church, Community Conference

February 10, 2022 - Well Church Initiative Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 9am to 12pm, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in partnership with Abundant Love Ministries will host a Well Church and Community Conference.

The Well Church and Community Conference is a virtual, educational experience for churches and communities seeking trusted, expert education, practical tools, and solutions to make informed decisions for themselves in the leading health and wellness challenges faced today. This conference will include education on
1. Active Living: Physical activity is essential to combating chronic disease, maintaining functionality throughout the lifespan, and can be used to re-engage the community.

2. Healthy Eating: Poor diet is the number one risk factor for chronic disease highlighting the need for healthier eating habits.

3. Opioid Abuse: Drug abuse, including opioids— which account for 50% of all overdose deaths in Texas — has increased throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving churches ill- informed and ill-prepared.

4. Mental Health: The pandemic, stress, social isolation, fears of re-integration, and other concerns continue to take a toll on clergy, congregants, and communities, highlighting the need for ways to help.
