November 3, 2021 - World War II Veteran, Mr. Allen Baker and his bride of 69 years, Bobbie wrap themselves in the Quilt of Valor he received from the Shelby County 4-H Heart to Hands Project, Texas A&M AgriLife extension.
The presentation was made at the Poultry Festival on October 7 but Mr. Baker was unable to attend. VFW Post 8904 accepted for him and took the quilt to his home in Timpson.
Mr. Baker enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and served from 1946 to 1948 aboard three different ships, USS Jason, USS Estes and the USS Mason.
