Angelina, Neches River Authority Extends Environmental Laboratory Hours for Public Water Systems to Conduct Emergency Water Testing

February 19, 2021 - The Angelina and Neches River Authority (ANRA) has been closely monitoring the unprecedented winter weather event in Texas and has been taking action as needed.

To help public water utilities with the restoration of normal water service and to expedite the rescission of boil water notices from the TCEQ, the Angelina and Neches River Authority’s Environmental Laboratory is extending normal hours of operation to accommodate water system professionals with emergency laboratory testing.

The laboratory will only test for Total Coliform and e. Coli during these extended emergency hours. Please call ANRA’s Central Office Facility at (936) 632-7795 or via email at to coordinate testing.

The Environmental Laboratory will receive samples from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 7 days a week, beginning Friday, February 19th, until further notice. Lab personnel will call with results immediately upon completion of testing.

Although weather conditions have improved, the aftermath of the winter storms has left communities devastated, and in some areas, water infrastructure has been unable to operate, has been damaged, or has failed completely. The health, safety, and well-being of our communities is our top priority and regaining access to a safe water supply is a vital part of Texans resuming normalcy.

ANRA is a government-designated critical infrastructure facility and is dedicated to assisting any public water system that has been impacted by the winter storms.

The Environmental Laboratory is located at 2901 N John Redditt Drive, in Lufkin, Texas. For more information, call ANRA’s Central Office Facility at (936) 632-7795 or email
