Back To School Coming Soon For Tenaha Tigers

July 25, 2018 - August is just around the corner and that means school will begin soon for Tenaha students. The Roarin’ Band from Tiger Land, grades 9-12, will began practice Friday, July 27th  for leadership and percussion and full band practice will begin Monday, July 30th. (Please see the Tenaha Roarin’ Band from Tiger Land Facebook page or go to www.tenahaisd.com  for a complete band practice schedule.) Brian Sours, Band Director, anticipates a great year for the Roarin’ Band from Tiger Land!

Football practice will begin on August 6th. A practice schedule will be released soon. (Please see the Tenaha ISD Facebook page or go to www.tenahaisd.com for a complete schedule when it is released.) Tenaha ISD Athletic Director, Greg Jenkins, is looking for a large turnout. Expectations are extremely high again this year for the Tenaha Tigers. It should be a great season!  

Football and Band are not the only ones working hard! The Tenaha ISD administrators have diligently worked to prepare for the upcoming school year. Teachers will return to campus on August 8th for staff development and work days. The students will return for their first day on August 15th
 
Students and parents can expect several changes for the 2018-2019 school year. There will be a new bell schedule. The building will open for students at 7:20am. Breakfast begins at 7:20am with the first bell to begin classes to ring at 7:50am. The tardy bell will ring at 7:55am. Parent pick-up for Elementary students begins at 3pm and the dismissal bell for all other students will ring at 3:10pm. Students and parents are invited to Meet the Teacher to find out more about what the upcoming school year will bring.   

Meet the Teacher and Meet the Tigers will be held on Thursday, August 9th. Meet the Teacher will be held from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Elementary students may bring school supplies to leave in classroom. Junior High and High School students may pick up their schedules.

Tiger Café opens at 5:30pm. There will be catfish and chicken baskets available for just $8.  

Meet the Tigers will begin at 6:30pm in the SEC. Come meet all the players that will be participating in this year’s championship run. The Roarin’ Band from Tiger Land will be on hand to play some tunes for the crowd and the cheerleaders will be there to get the crowd motivated.
