The Timpson Bears varsity baseball team improved their District 23 2A conference mark to 2-1 with a 10-0 win over the visiting Mount Enterprise Wildcats on Friday. The game was shortened to 4 ½ innings due to the league’s 10-run mercy rule. Bears pitcher Jordan Turner closed out the game to help secure win. THS only allowed four walks and no hits in the effort. Turner’s solo homerun over the leftfield fence in the bottom of the fourth frame gave the Bears the ten-run margin to end the contest early. The Bears pitching staff struck out 11 Wildcat batters during the game.

Timpson hit safely nine times and reached on walks twice. Scores by Jayden Windham, Braden Courtney, Xander Stephens and Colton Carroll gave the Bears a 4-0 lead in their first at bat. They were able to steadily build the lead throughout the day.

Timpson will next travel to Mount Enterprise on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 for another district game at Wildcats Ballpark at 6 p.m.
