Bradley Allen Encourages Voters to Turnout for Run-off Election; Change in Polling Location (Pd Adv)

May 18, 2018 - I’m Bradley Allen, Shelby County Commissioner for Precinct 4. I am coming to you, again to ask for your support and vote in the Republican run-off election on May 22. Please note that the poll location for Timpson North and Timpson South will be the Timpson Public Library. This is a change for this election only. The Republican Party chairman, Leigh Porterfield decided to combine the polling places in Timpson for this run-off election. The polling locations will remain the same for the rest of Precinct 4 as well as the rest of the County. Please tell everyone you know because this is an important run-off and I will need every vote I can get.

I have been the Commissioner for Precinct 4 for 11 years. I have done this job to the best of my ability. I have hired and retained the very best employees that I can find. I am proud of the road crew that I have in place. Shelby County Precinct 4 has a history of dependable, loyal and hardworking employees. My dad. L G Allen, was Prect 4 Commissioner for many years. Some of his employees included Charlie Rhodes, Elvis Rhodes, Hoyt Thompson, Alfred Crump, Ben Bearden, Dallas Burgay, Robert Joe Scott and Virgil Wedgeworth. Charlie is still with us, the rest have passed on, but their family members are still around. Alfred’s grandson, Doye Cantrell is currently a valued employee of Prect 4. These people were and are salt-of-the-earth folks. We are blessed in Precinct 4 to have good honest hard-working constituents who know that while improvements can always be made, we work daily to improve the roads in this precinct. I recently received a hand-written thank you letter from the Director of Transportation of Timpson High School saying how much she appreciated the condition of the roads and the promptness of repair of any problem school buses encounter on our Precinct 4 roads. I appreciated her kind words and the acknowledgement of my crew’s hard work.

The decisions that I make in Shelby Commissioners Court affect all of us and I have always tried to vote with you at the heart of my decisions. I know who my constituents are and I will continue to represent your interests and needs.

I have a wonderful working relationship with all of my fellow commissioners. We have been able to do several projects where we joined together to utilize our equipment and buying power to get better prices and to be able to serve the county in a more cost efficient way. We have plans to continue to work together to make Shelby County a better place to live and work.

I appreciate the support and encouragement that I have received from many of you. But, please don’t think that a run-off is not an important election. It is very important for you to get out and vote and remind your family and friends to vote. Early voting began May 14 at the Clerk’s office in Center. The polls for Precinct 4 Republican Run-Off race will be open on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Locations are: 1W - JOI Ranch, 8 Tenaha - First United Methodist Church, and 9N and 9S - TIMPSON PUBLIC LIBRARY.
