Center Band To Perform At Walt Disney World

March 4, 2015 - The Pride of Shelby County, Center High School Marching Band will be leaving for their trip to Florida from Sunday, March 8th through Friday, March 13th. The band submitted audition photos and video which earned them the opportunity to perform in Disney’s famous nighttime electrical parade, “Wishes Nighttime Spectacular.” The performance will be on Monday night in the Magic Kingdom.

Band director, Chris Smith explains, “147 band members will get to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity to tour backstage of The Magic Kingdom and become honorary cast members." This will be the fourth time that the Center High School band has been selected by Disney to perform and their second time to march in the night parade. It will not be all work for the Band, they will also have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and magic of Disney by visiting the Animal Kingdom, The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios.

In addition, we would like to thank our band booster club for everything they do to help our band remain the Pride of Shelby County.
