Center High School Students Accepted into Prestigious National SOAR Program

May 8, 2025 - The community proudly celebrates Center High School students, Denton Odom, Christian Hill, Zykerius Barnes, Destiny Tinner, Gregory Levier, and Araiya Edwards, on the achievement as an outstanding student who has been accepted into the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) SOAR Program. The SOAR (Seeking, Observing and Achieving Results) Program is a prestigious multi-year initiative designed to support students as they chart their post-secondary path and prepare for life beyond high school.

The TMCF SOAR Program introduces high school juniors to a range of opportunities through an immersive, on-campus experience at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Throughout their senior year, students continue to engage with their host institutions, building valuable relationships and gaining insight into college and career.

To be eligible for SOAR, students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, submit a transcript, and complete a reflective personal statement. These Center High School students have demonstrated academic commitment, leadership, and determination—and now have an extraordinary opportunity to expand their horizons through TMCF’s network and resources.

Congratulations to these students on this remarkable accomplishment and we look forward to the bright futures ahead of them.
