Center ISD Board of Trustees Special Meeting Unofficial January 23rd Minutes

January 26, 2015 - A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of Center Independent School District (CISD) was held on Friday, January 23, 2015 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at CISD Administration Board Room located at 107 Private Road 605 Center, Texas 75935.

1. Call Meeting to Order and Establish a Quorum

    James Greer called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. and declared a quorum.

    Present: James Greer, Daphne LaRock, Sharon Nelson, Stephen Shires, Traci Willoughby and James Hockenberry, Superintendent

    Absent: John Henry Holloway and Dan Wilkins

    Visitors: Barry Bowman; Stephanie Bowman; Heather Brink, Southwest Foodservice Excellence; Mike Brister; Tracy Broadway, Center Broadcasting; Holly Burns, Center Middle School; John Burns; Luke Burns; Tim Norman, Center High School; Ronny Samford, Light and Champion; Shelby Skeen, CISD Digital Learning Coordinator; Traci Mettauer; Duece Wulf and Mickey Wulf, CISD Special Services Director

2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance

    Rayford Copelin gave the invocation and Sharon Nelson led the Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Closed Session

    The Board did not enter into closed session regarding the Level III Parent Complaint by Linda Lopez.

4. Open

    No action was taken by the Board. The Level III Parent Complaint by Linda Lopez has been postponed and will be rescheduled.

5. Closed Session

    5.1 Mr. Greer called for closed session at 12:02 p.m. under Texas Government Code §551.074

    The Board returned into open session at 12:18 p.m. No action was taken in closed session.

6. Open Session

    Daphne LaRock made the motion, seconded by Traci Willoughby to approve Barry Bowman as the new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Center Independent School District. The motion carried 5-0.

7. Adjournment

    A motion was made by Sharon Nelson, seconded by Stephen Shires to adjourn the meeting at 12:23 p.m. The motion carried 5-0.
