July 31, 2025 - Center ISD Welcomes Mr. Bradley “Jake” Henson as Interim Superintendent
On behalf of the Center ISD School Board, we are excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Bradley “Jake” Henson as Interim Superintendent, effective July 30, 2025. Jake will assume responsibility for all school operations and report directly to the Board during this interim period, as we work to restructure and strengthen our leadership team.
With over 2,000 students across five campuses, Jake will be instrumental in shaping the vision, culture, and strategic direction of Center ISD. He will collaborate closely with the School Board and district partners to uphold our commitment to preparing students for the future. The Board is united in its support of Jake and is committed to providing him and his team with the tools and resources necessary for success.
Jake brings more than 25 years of experience within Center ISD, having served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and, for the last five years, as Assistant Superintendent. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. Jake and his wife, Mindy, have been married for 23 years and are the proud parents of three sons: Cale, Connor, and Cullen. Mindy has worked as a hairstylist at Elite Hair Design in Center for the past 25 years.
Cale and Connor are graduates of Center ISD and are currently attending Stephen F. Austin State University. Cale earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and is now pursuing his Master’s degree while serving as a graduate assistant for the SFA athletic department. Connor recently transferred to SFA after spending two years at Centenary College in Shreveport, where he played baseball. Their youngest son, Cullen, is a student at Center Middle School and stays active by competing in a variety of sports.

A Message from Jake Henson:
“I am extremely excited to serve the district in this new capacity. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we begin the new school year. I will continue to be highly visible on all campuses and at extracurricular events. I will place strong emphasis on employee engagement as well as listening and learning from everyone across the district.
Together, we will build a strong, unified culture and a shared vision that reflects the heart of our community and the hopes we have for our students. Starting right away, I’ll be placing a strong emphasis on what I believe are the cornerstones of success at Center ISD: Connectivity, Communication, Collaboration, and Accountability. I want every staff member, student, and family to feel seen, heard, and valued. By encouraging honest conversations and creating space for all voices; together, we will lay the foundation for a transparent, inclusive environment where trust and progress go hand-in-hand.
While challenges lie ahead, I am confident that the best days of Center ISD are still to come. In the coming weeks, you will see both the School Board’s and my commitment to supporting our students, staff, and programs as we address the needs of our district. With your help, we will build a school system that is second to none—while being good stewards of our community’s trust and resources.
I look forward to working with each of you and am incredibly excited for the future of Center ISD. Go Riders! Together We Can!”
