Center comes into tonight with only two district games remaining. Currently, the #5 ranked Roughriders are in first place in the District Race, just one point ahead of state #1 Kilgore. (In soccer, each district win earns a team 3 points. But if a game goes through overtime and into the Penalty Kick phase, the game's points are split: 2 pts to the winner and 1 to the loser. Center has 31 points: 30 points for its 10 wins, and 1 point for its only loss, a penalty kick shoot-out to Pine Tree. On the other hand, Kilgore has 10 wins and one loss [to Center] for 30 points. If Center defeats Sabine this evening, it sets up a true District Championship Game in Kilgore Friday night against the #1 ranked Bulldogs!
