April 30, 2020 - Center Middle School Teacher of the Year, Jessica Gurley was surprised by a few CMS staff members Wednesday, April 29th. Mr. Henson, principal of CMS, along with assistant principal Amber Mathews, CISD police officer Shad Sparks, and Counselor Sommer Herndon drove up with siren blaring and presented Mrs. Gurley with a gift. Due to social distancing, the annual Teacher of the Year Banquet is not being held as usual.
Mrs. Gurley says she is blessed to be working with everyone at CMS and this was definitely a highlight during her stay at home.
